Prompt for Creative Tuesdays Fuzzy – The definition of fuzzy: covered with short, soft hairs, fur etc.

My choice for Creative Tuesday’s prompt  is a lion. I have seen fuzzy lions as toys. My lion however is the real thing. However, if he were not as fierce, I think you could find him to be fuzzy on your face particularly around the whiskers.

My picture is done in watercolour. I used some Chinese white for the whiskers.

The lion is a symbol of power, might and is ferocious. (click to tweet)

Lion is used as a synonym for God.

Amos 3:8

The lion has roared—
    who will not fear?
The Sovereign Lord has spoken—
    who can but prophesy?

A lion is also described as bold. I like that. Determined. I think we need to be bold as a lion.

Proverbs 28:1

The wicked flee though no one pursues,
but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

The lion is also used to symbolize Satan.

1 Peter 5:8

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

That reminded me of a dream I had of two lions fighting a ferocious battle. I wrote a blog post for Creative Tuesdays with the prompt “dreams” and tell about my dream of the lions.

One of my favourite stories is The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe (actually all of the Narnia series). The lion in Narnia is an allegory for Jesus. That lion the kids were able to get close to and actually touch.

And of course, there is the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy cuddled this fuzzy lion for much of the story.

I painted a lion in my Bible to help me memorize  Proverbs 28:1.
