Glorification, Resurrection

New Jerusalem is a city “having the glory of God” (Rev. 21:11). New Jerusalem is also a city in resurrection, a city fully constituted with the resurrection life, having no element of the old creation.

The close relationship of glorification and resurrection is shown by two sentences spoken by the Lord Jesus, recorded in Luke 24:26, 46:
“Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into His glory?”
“Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise up from the dead on the third day.”

New JerusalemThis relationship is also presented in two phrases spoken by Peter in Acts 3:13, 15:
“The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Servant Jesus…”
“The Author of life you killed, whom God has raised from the dead…”

New Jerusalem is a city with the expression of glory and a city with life fully in resurrection. The life brings forth the expression, the display of all that God is, and this divine appearance testifies that the resurrection life fills New Jerusalem.

    The Mall or the Manger?

Much has changed since the God of the universe decorated the night sky with the star of Bethlehem and directed the choir of angels in a chorus announcing the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. But the commercialism doesn’t have to rule in our hearts and homes. This year let’s focus on the Christ Child and remember the true meaning of the holiday season. As we turn our eyes to the Babe in the manger, we will not view Christmas as a dreaded obligation or a major retail event. It will be a time of joyous celebration, honoring the One Who came to give us eternal life and worshipping our Heavenly Father.
