God’s Expression in the New Creation

All the new things, all the newness, and all the renewing in the New Testament have a glorious conclusion in Revelation 21—a new heaven, a new earth, and New Jerusalem.

New Jerusalem is the center of the new creation and the descriptions in Revelation 21:1 to 22:5 concentrate on the city. This focus is because the city fulfills God’s eternal plan to be expressed by His life in a corporate humanity.

In eternity past God purposed to have a corporate expression that He might be fully expressed and glorified (Eph. 3:9-11; 1:9-12). For this, He created the heavens, the earth, and mankind…When God finishes this work through the dispensation of the kingdom, the old heaven and old earth will pass away through fire and be renewed to become the new heaven and new earth (2 Pet. 3:10-13), into which the New Jerusalem will come to be God’s eternal expression.*

New JerusalemBesides the marvelous newness in Revelation 21, Isaiah 65:17 tells us “For I am now creating new heavens / And a new earth, / And the former things will not be remembered, / Nor will they come up in the heart.”

In New Jerusalem in the new creation we will completely enjoy Christ as everything. According to Isaiah 65:16-18 we will not remember the old creations nor make comparisons between the old and the new but we will rejoice in our Lord forever!

    The Mall or the Manger?

Much has changed since the God of the universe decorated the night sky with the star of Bethlehem and directed the choir of angels in a chorus announcing the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. But the commercialism doesn’t have to rule in our hearts and homes. This year let’s focus on the Christ Child and remember the true meaning of the holiday season. As we turn our eyes to the Babe in the manger, we will not view Christmas as a dreaded obligation or a major retail event. It will be a time of joyous celebration, honoring the One Who came to give us eternal life and worshipping our Heavenly Father.
