GUTTED-By Sweet Rose

In the last blog, I was instructed to WAIT on the Lord.  The waiting process has been somewhat difficult, but rather than throw a strop or a hissy fit I decided to ‘renew my mind’.  To work with God rather than against Him, after all what do I have to lose???

During this season of truth, I am not only walking in my truth but I have been [VERY] honest with myself.  I previously attended a prayer meeting and the Revered mentioned we are to put on the ‘armour of truth’ at all times.  By wearing my armour of truth I have noticed significant changes in life externally as well as internally.

Externally I have been complimented numerous times how well I am looking.  I find myself walking with my head held back and shoulders pulled back.  Internally I feel more at peace, more confident, beautiful INSIDE AND OUT; matters/issues where I used to worry or care a lot about, I now worry and care less… HALLEUJAH.

Spending quality time with the Lord, having made a conscious decision to ‘let go and let God’, the days of walking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame is now a thing of the past.  The word states, “… God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them”. Genesis 1:27 New Living Translation (NLT).   Rather than look at how I think I should be, I have been working with God to be the person that He wants me to be and how He wants me to look, as I am believing in God and His word to change me for the better

Areas where I once struggled in, by God’s grace, mercy and favour especially when  I know I am not worthy to receive His mercy, His word continues to prove true daily, I really …”can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfil His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.”] Philippians 4:13 Amplified Bible (AMP).  As I am believing in God and His word to change me for the better, I not only see the difference but I feel the difference.

If you know God enough you would know that He likes to balance things out called humility.  But if you know the devil enough, he being the “father of lies”, John 8:44, is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour, 1 Peter 5:8.

As I was putting together this blog, I asked the Holy Spirit for guidance and the title I had in mind the Lord instructed me to change it to ‘gutted’.  When I questioned why? The Lord took me to a time when I was preparing dinner and on the menu was fried fish.  Any cooks out there would know that a preparation takes place before the fish is edible.  The fish goes through a ‘process’ of being cleaned before it is seasoned.  The fish is descaled, the fins are trimmed and the next part is gutting the fish.  Taking out the internal intestines and excess is to ensure that the fish causes no harm to the body.  The Lord asked me to pay attention to the gutting of the fish.

The Lord had informed me we have to go through a process in order to be clean and to be the person whom He wants us to be. It is through the process areas/ people/circumstances to name a few either need to be trimmed off or cut off for good.  The removal of the intestines, the ‘rubbish’ needs to be expelled in order to be made whole-to be of use for His purpose.   That means the heart, mind, body and spirit all have to be ‘clean’ –to be right before the Lord.

Satan in the meantime wants to destroy all of the effort and hard work by reminding of us of our past, our failures and shortcomings.  The enemy’s mission is to make us believe his lies as the truth, to blatantly lie to us or make us believe that our truth is a lie.

For years I believed the enemy’s lies that I was unworthy but God’s word states, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16.   I was not pretty or good enough, yet His words states, “Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you. I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life.”  Isaiah 43:4.  God will never forgive me yet His word states, “The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him”, Daniel 9:9.

LIES, LIES and more LIES of the enemy is only ‘true’ if we choose to believe his LIES.  The good news is that God’s truth is REAL and He is worthy to be praised.  His word states, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”.

I hope to encourage as you read this blog, the WORD is the WHOLE TRUTH and NOTHING but the TRUTH so help me God!  After gutting the fish, the intestines serves no purpose therefore it has be to be thrown away.  Bitterness, anger, grudges, covetous, to name a few serves no purpose therefore get rid of it.

I am not perfect, none of us are but it is through our imperfections that Christ being the potter is molding me and shaping me to be the ‘best’ woman I can be.  It is through the process that the Lord is preparing me to be the best I can be and do my best and to receive the best as Donald Lawrence often sings, “The best is yet to come”.

Anyone can look good on the outside but not always look or feel good internally.  Now whenever I hear, ‘sis you look well’ or sis you look good (the emphasis on good).  I now respond, ‘thank you …I feel good too’.

I am a work in progress…till next time

PEACE.
