1 Samuel 1:13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.
“This is the best example of internal versus outward talking.
Hannah talks in her heart, and look what the Holy Spirit says.
A. IN HER HEART (INTERNAL).
B. Her voice was not heard.
Hannah, despite talking IN her heart and moving her lips, her voice was not heard.
"Doesn't this prove confession isn't verbal?"
Compare scripture with scripture. The next verse in this study clarifies.
Job 33:3 My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
You know Jeremiah 33:3? Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
It's a cross reference.
Now, Job 33:3 and 1 Samuel 1:13 are great verses about this.
Job says lips, like 1 Samuel 1:13, however it writes "shall utter knowledge clearly."
Job verbally speaks, unlike Hannah.
Job utters; Hannah's only move.
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
You have to utter for confession.” - 3rd study.
1 Samuel 7:3 ¶ And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

1 Samuel 17:28 ¶ And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
Look, Eliab is saying that David's heart made him physically do something.
1 Kings 2:4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.
If they believe (in truth with all their heart and with all their soul) and act upon this. Not mentally assenting or feeling certain in God placing a man on the throne of Israel.
Romans 15:4
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
From the line of David comes Christ the Messiah, who is the final and the ultimate King of Israel. If it is not enough for the Jews of old to mentally assent to trust that there will come a man upon the throne of Israel, then why is it enough for a church age person to mentally assent instead of believing and receiving?
2 Kings 22:19 Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD.
His heart was tender, and he physically did something and spoke. God had mercy upon him.
A person doesn't have to rent their clothes and weep to be saved, but they does have to hear the words of God and have God hear them in a prayer.
Psalms 39:3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,
Look at the chain. His heart was hot, he was musing ( INTERNALLY), then he vocally spake.
A person believes (while admitting they're a sinner on their way to hell) and then vocally speaks.
Jeremiah 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
The false prophets "prophesy" VOCALLY using their HEARTS.
