Why is bitterness harmful?

Bitterness is like a sneaky thief that can quietly enter our hearts. It's a feeling when we hold onto hurt, anger, or disappointment. In our Christian journey, bitterness is harmful for several reasons.

First, bitterness can make our hearts hard. When bitter, we often focus on our hurt instead of the love and forgiveness that Jesus teaches. It can create a barrier between us and God, making it hard to feel His presence and guidance. 

It is akin to looking through a foggy window; our perception of God's love becomes blurred.

Second, bitterness can harm our relationships with others. It can lead us to say hurtful things or act in unkind ways. It goes against Jesus' command to love one another. 

The Bible instructs, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” (Ephesians 4:31). We should let go of these negative feelings.

In prayer, you can ask for God's strength and guidance to help you forgive and move forward. It's a powerful way to connect with the divine and find peace as you're reminded that you're not alone in your struggles. 

When you pray, you allow God to work in your heart, helping to heal the wounds that cause bitterness.

2. Forgiveness
