Do you want to prosper God’s way? Do this one thing and you shall prosper as God has promised.

Reading 1, Jeremiah 7:23-28

23 My one command to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. In everything, follow the way that I mark out for you, and you shall prosper.

24 But they did not listen, they did not pay attention; they followed their own devices, their own stubborn and wicked inclinations, and got worse rather than better.

God’s one command: Listen to My voice

23 My one command to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. Jeremiah 7

God’s one command is to listen to His voice.

How will I listen to God’s voice, you may ask?

By developing a relationship with God. He wants a relationship with you more than anything else.

It starts with prayer.

Prayer is just taking time to spend with God, to talk to him, be with him.

It’s a date with our Heavenly Father. It’s a date with our Spouse, the Lover of our Souls.

Listening to God’s voice

I was just talking to my mama the other day about prayer.

She has this prayer book that she’s faithful to read and pray day and night.

I think she started doing it this year daily and faithfully.

Now its pages are a bit torn and she was asking how to preserve it.

I suggested she start copying the prayers in a doc app on her phone. That way, she can always read it anytime cause she’ll be bringing her phone everywhere.

But I also encouraged her to learn how to listen to God in her prayer time.

She asked how, I said by reading God’s word in the bible and taking time to be silent and reflect on the word as it applies to you.

Any verse that comes alive for you, that speaks to your situation, that’s God’s voice for you.

Like this verse above that I’m reflecting on now.

That really spoke to me.

Right now, my greatest desire is to prosper. To have all I need for myself and my family, and more than enough for every good cause.

One of my Life Bucket goals is to be so prosperous that I will not only have all I need for myself and my family but I will have more than enough for every good cause I want to give to.

I want to give 90% of all my income and recurring residual profits (which I’m working to build right now) as tithe to fund God’s work in the world for generations to come.

Right now, I’m giving to my local church and Christian Broadcasting Network and their 700 club.

So when I read this verse from the first reading in today’s mass:

23 My one command to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. In everything, follow the way that I mark out for you, and you shall prosper. Jeremiah 7

That verse spoke volumes to me.

God is showing me the one thing I have to do to get what I want: to prosper.

I have to listen to His voice so I can follow the way that He marked out for me, and I will prosper.

Obeying God’s voice

This year, I have committed to listening to God more closely when it comes to doing my business and it has been a great adventure for me.

He instructed me to focus on working on my blog when I thought I should focus on growing my YouTube channel.

Initially, I planned on making more YouTube videos. Instead, He instructed me to post on my blog my daily reflections.

I write my prayers and thoughts on my journal in a Google doc daily and one day while I was writing, He inspired me to post it on my blog at night after I end my work day.

I obeyed and now I create and curate videos that supplement what God is trying to say in an article.

My Print on Demand SpeakChrist Inspirational designs that I sell on RedBubble, Teepublic, and Zazzle; my cover design for my SpeakChrist Inspirational Journals that I sell on Amazon Kindle; the SpeakChrist Lovenote Printable wall arts, greeting cards, mobile phone screensaver designs that I sell on my own shop – all these are inspired by the articles I write on my blog.

And I post them on my blog as well with a link to my shops so you can buy it you want.

Everyday, when I sit before God in my prayer time after mass, I ask Him what He wants me to write about and He gives it to me.

I’m just like His secretary He dictates His message to, for me to write and publish.

Doing my business has become so much easier and enjoyable for me.

Yesterday, I forgot and left my phone at home. So I spent my prayer time just sitting before God – just being with Him, feeling the wind, listening to the birds and the general sounds of life around me.

Naturally, I didn’t write an article yesterday but I was not agitated, not guilty about it. I felt that’s what God wanted me to do that day, an exercise for me in listening to Him and not just doing things out of routine.

The more I trained myself to listen to God’s voice, the more I become sensitive to knowing what He wants me to do at any given moment.

Yesterday was Kindle day for me, my day focused on making covers for the inspirational journals I list on Amazon Kindle, inspired by my article that Monday.

But it was taking so long to upload. So I made a printable wall art/greeting card with the same design while waiting. I finished listing it in my shop the same time I finished my uploads on Amazon.

No agitation. No frustration. No overwhelm. No hustling.

Just a keen sense of what God wants me to do in this circumstance.

The result? Fruitfulness and productivity.

You shall prosper

While walking here to mass today, I was thinking of this verse that I received earlier this week:

This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit (benefit), Who leads you in the way that you should go. Isaiah 48:17 AMP

What do you know, when I checked it out again just now so I can write the verse, the following verses really spoke to me too regarding this very thing we have been reflecting on:

If we listen to God’s voice we shall prosper.

Oh, that you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your peace and prosperity would have been like a [flowing] river, And your righteousness [the holiness and purity of the nation] like the [abundant] waves of the sea.

Your offspring would have been like the sand, And your descendants [in number] like the grains of sand; Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.” Isaiah 48:18‭-‬19 AMP

Peace and Prosperity.

That’s what God has promised if we’ll just listen to His voice and obey Him.

And this is not just for you but for generations after you, your sons and daughters, biological and spiritual, will always be before God.

Talk about generational wealth and prosperity.

Now Your turn

Do you want wealth and prosperity that will last for generations after you?

Spend time with God in prayer. Listen to God’s voice. Obey Him.

It’s the one thing He commands you must do.

23 My one command to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. In everything, follow the way that I mark out for you, and you shall prosper. Jeremiah 7

Listen to God’s voice. In everything, follow the way that He marks out for you.

That’s how to prosper God’s way.
