I See You
In a favorite animated movie the characters would say, “I see you,” to share that they understood and really connected with another person. That’s a deep knowledge or secret awareness — intimate even. We generally don’t have many of those over our lifetime. It’s special. Hopefully we find that in our spouse, a best friend, or close family member. But the Bible tells us that if we seek the Lord like we’re searching for hidden treasure with all our hearts, we can discover the knowledge of God. We’ll never know all there is to know. Deuteronomy 29:29 tells us, “The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.”
God reveals Himself to us through His Word and spending time with Him in prayer. Ask Him to open your eyes and heart to what He wants you to see. Every time I read His Word, I learn something new. The knowledge I gain is worth more than anything in this world. In Philippians 3:8 Paul says “…I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord….”
Knowing Jesus means you can find an intimate relationship with Him. A pastor once shared with me, “God doesn’t have favorites, He has intimates.” He won’t hide Himself from you if you seek Him with all your heart. Don’t be afraid to confess your sins to Him. God bless you.
Questions for Reflection:
- Have you met my Jesus?
- John 3:16 is the Gospel in one easy to memorize verse.
- If you haven’t already, read the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They each give the Gospel story, but John was at the foot of the cross with Mary at the crucifixion. Read Romans for more of the good news of Christ.
- I’d love to hear from you if you ask Jesus into your heart and begin your own personal quest for an intimate relationship with Him.
