LAMENTATIONS

I know nothing seems right at the moment.
Nothing makes sense right now.
Your faith is shaky.
You’re blinded by your tears.
You’re wondering if God is really as powerful as the Bible says, I mean, we read about the Red Sea and how God easily took care of the Egyptians. Heh. Now you’re wondering, did God change? Is He still the Consuming fire the Bible talked about?
Is He still the One who loves us recklessly?
Is He still the One who would go through the moon and back to keep us unhurt, to deliver us from danger?
Are our names still imprinted on His palms?
Does He still guard us jealously?
Are thousands still falling by our sides and we are coming out unhurt?
Is the Spirit still raising a standard against the enemy?
Those many amazing promises, are they still working till date?
Is the Lord still the Strength of our lives?
Is He still holding our right hands?
Is He still with us when we walk through fire and when we’re overwhelmed by storms?
Can we still call Him Father after everything?

I wish this was a post to help you stay lifted and above water? But I need lifting too.
I wish this was a post to help you remember that God is here, but I’m still struggling to stay sane and sensitive to God’s Spirit, even when I’m blinded by gory scenes and my fear is at its peak.

This is not the time to analyze situations, hard as it is, this is a time to trust and lean even when you can’t see.
This is the time to look within and feel God’s Peace.
This is the time to cry in the right place – Your Secret Place.
This is the time to let God heal us.

Even if my understanding was small, God isn’t.
I might not understand all of what is happening right now, what I know is that the only thing greater than my fears, worries and insecurities is my conviction that God didn’t lie when He talked about how mighty and strong He was.

Sometimes we don’t talk about trusting God because we believe it or because we’re sure, but we talk about it until we are sure.

I was led to Lamentations. You know many people avoid the book of LAMENTATIONS in the Bible because you can’t read it without wondering where God was when the people suffered and cried for help yet they were utterly destroyed and killed. When you read the book of LAMENTATIONS you might relate with the prophet Jeremiah who wept over the awful devastation of Jerusalem and the terrible slaughter of human life that he saw around him.
Anger consumed Prophet Jeremiah and there was no peace in his heart until he reached a place of repentance and forgiveness.
Yes, they cried.
Yes, they got angry at everyone and everything.
Yes, they lamented.
Yes, they sang songs of bitterness.
But you know what happened at the end? They reached a place of forgiveness and repentance.

Just like Prophet Jeremiah, the hurt and anger in our hearts might consume us and take our peace away. It might leave us in doubt of God’s love for us. It might break our hearts and Spirits. But just like Jeremiah, let it end in repentance and proclamation of God’s faithfulness.

Let’s eventually reach a place of repentance and forgiveness.
