Life in the Fasting Lane : Cultivating Humility, Obedience and a Heart of Worship - A Nighttime Prayer

"Now, therefore, says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm." -- Joel 2:12-13 (NKJV)

Please Pray:

Abba Father, we come to you and repent of the sins of pride, disobedience, neglect, rebellion and failing to seek Your will first in all things. We repent of our selfish pride. Each day, we begin with a vow to do our best in our own strength, and we fail miserably. Refresh us and renew us by Your Holy Spirit. Help us to be more like Jesus, to keep our eyes on You in heaven, to hear Your voice, to follow Your Word, and to serve as Your children in this world, according to Your will. Help us to rest and sleep, rising in the morning, refreshed, renewed and restored. Guide us moment by moment and help us to follow Your Holy will and Your perfect plans. We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
