Mmm Chocolate - Creative Tuesdays - Growing Through God's Word

What can I say, “Mmm Chocolate. This week Michael’s prompt for Creative Tuesdays is “chocolate”. I veered a little away from the box of chocolates. I recently baked some chocolate cupcakes. I used 90% dark chocolate in my recipe for chocolate cupcakes. Yes for this “paleo” girl I do get some perks. These are delicious.

ART for mmm Chocolate:

I drew and coloured this picture while remembering what we ate the night before for dessert. If you look below it is not quite the same as the original. My imagination made the cupcake grow.

I used pencil crayon – watercolour pencil crayon.I did not use a brown pencil crayon. Instead I used complementary colours to make brown. You can see at the top right how I decided if that would work. Red first, then green. Orange first, then blue. Yellow first, then purple. It was experimenting for me.

Then I went back and used water on it.

Mmm Chocolate watercolour pencils
Touched up the picture with water on watercolour pencils.

You can see that the red started to show through more. I like the yellow then purple to make the brown. Experimental. And I only used photocopy paper this time.

Here is a great website on using pencil crayons. Using Colored Pencils to create fine art.

BAKING for mmm chocolate:

Mmm chocolate paleo cupcake

I made the chocolate cupcakes from this recipe on Holistically Engineered. Paleo Chocolate Cupcakes. This recipe calls for honey and coconut flour.

The recipe for the icing is below or you could use their recipe with avocados (my hubby thinks he is allergic to them so I opted for my recipe for icing).

I actually cut this icing recipe in 1/2 for these cupcakes. That’s why there isn’t much icing on my little cupcake. Oh well it tasted delicious.

1/2 cup of coconut cream (I used the top of a can of coconut milk)
3/4 cup of dark chocolate chips (I used a 90% chocolate bar, chopped up).
1/4 tsp vanilla

Scald the cream.
Turn off heat and add the chips and vanilla.
Whip until fluffy.

Any questions just email me or comment below.

Since we have cut down (cut off) eating sugar in any form except fruits, maple syrup, honey and coconut sugar, my hubby has lost and kept off 40 pounds. We also don’t eat any grains. But I still love little treats. These cupcakes are so good (and good for us too).

SCRIPTURE for mmm chocolate:

But the sweetness of God’s Word is better than that.

How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Psalm 119:103, NIV).

Honey is mentioned in God’s Word over 60 times.

Honey is even good for you.

Eat honey, my son, for it is good;
honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
14 Know also that wisdom is like honey for you:
If you find it, there is a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off (Proverbs 24:13-14, NIV).

I think Mmm the sweetness of God’s Word. (tweet this)
