Our Guarantee

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14

There are a blessed people ahead that have passed through the narrow gate and are now with the Lord.  Sometimes I’m afraid that I won’t be allowed passage. Those moments when the sins I detest still accompany me. Then the accuser whispers “what makes you think you will be accepted on that day?”

Fellow pilgrim be encouraged. Do not look within for assurance but look to Jesus the originator and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)

Remember when you heard and believed the truth? Look behind the scenes and see what God did for you on that day.

– You were included in Christ.

– You were marked in Him with a seal, the Holy Spirit who now indwells you.

When you deposit your check and funds clear, you count on the money.

– In a greater way, God put His Spirit within us as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the day we die. Then we will be redeemed by God, who bought us at the price of the death of His only Son.

The sands of time are sinking, and we shall be at the entrance soon.

Do you believe in Jesus? Then count on him to get you through the narrow gate. You have his Spirit, so he guarantees it.

Hear our Lord now, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3)

“Lord, we praise and adore You, for You alone are worthy! Thank you for giving us these words of treasure and comfort, for we are a fearful and needy people. We look forward to the day You call us home. That we be found in Him!”

    The Mall or the Manger?

Much has changed since the God of the universe decorated the night sky with the star of Bethlehem and directed the choir of angels in a chorus announcing the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. But the commercialism doesn’t have to rule in our hearts and homes. This year let’s focus on the Christ Child and remember the true meaning of the holiday season. As we turn our eyes to the Babe in the manger, we will not view Christmas as a dreaded obligation or a major retail event. It will be a time of joyous celebration, honoring the One Who came to give us eternal life and worshipping our Heavenly Father.
