The Blood Still Works

1x
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)

There are moments in life when our faith is tested—when our bodies fail, when doctors don’t have answers, when uncertainty looms over us. But even in the midst of it all, God’s peace is ever-present for those who trust in Him.

I reflect on a season when my own health was in question. Blood in my stool, unexplained weakness, and uncertainty about my condition led me into a deeper place with God. Even when I lacked physical strength, my praise never wavered. In the stillness, I felt God drawing me into consecration—a place of surrender, trust, and peace that surpassed understanding.

On the day of my procedure, as I laid on the hospital bed, the doctor’s unexpected words—“Are we checking for cancer today?”—could have filled me with fear. But God had already assured me of His presence. I awoke from the procedure with a testimony on my lips: The blood still works!

The blood of Jesus, shed on the Cross, was not just for salvation—it was for healing, restoration, and victory over every battle we face. If His blood had the power to redeem humanity from sin, how much more can it cover our struggles today? Whether it’s a physical ailment, emotional burden, or spiritual warfare, the blood of Jesus is still effective.

As believers, we cannot afford to remain stagnant. A true encounter with Jesus transforms us from the inside out. If we claim to be called by Him, our lives should reflect His power, His grace, and His ever-working blood. Time is fleeting, and tomorrow is not promised. It’s time to get our spiritual houses in order, to surrender, and to live as evidence that God is real.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. Have you ever experienced a moment where you knew God’s peace despite uncertainty? How did it change you?
  2. In what areas of your life do you need to apply the power of Jesus’ blood—healing, deliverance, restoration?
  3. Are you growing in your walk with Christ, or have you remained in the same spiritual place? What changes do you need to make?
  4. If today were your last day, would your life be a testimony of God's power?

      Am I Enjoying God?

There she lay in her beautiful box. A two-foot bride doll dressed in a white chiffon, pearl-studded wedding gown with matching veil. Her short-cropped, curly brown hair fell softly around her delicate face; her pink, plump skin felt amazingly soft; and her movable eyelids lined with thick black lashes opened and closed with her changing positions. The bride doll had perfectly shaped lips and crystal-blue eyes that appeared strangely real. Read more...
