The Joy of Spiritual Discipline - A Nighttime Prayer

Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV)

Please Pray:

Jesus, I come to You today needing Your guidance in my spiritual life. Please help me become more disciplined in the daily habits that will draw me closer to You. Give me wisdom to set my priorities in line with Your commandments. Remind me of the joys You offer in every decision I make to serve You...with keeping my body healthy, my life in order, my work productive, my relationships fulfilling. Thank You for all the many blessings You have provided. Continue to let Your joy be my strength in serving You. Help me remember that You are the One who provides all good and perfect gifts. May I rejoice in You as I spend my days pouring out Your love on others. Be my example in every way. In Your Name, Amen.
