The Privileged Life: Public Restrooms

IMG_7594“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Public restrooms are something we constantly take for granted in the U.S.—until we desperately need one. Think about all the times you’ve stopped at McDonald’s, department stores, gas stations, and so forth to take advantage of this luxury. This is definitely a HUGE privilege for all of us!

Restrooms aren’t so easy to find in some other countries…there’s often a fee involved…or there’s nothing more than a hole in the floor…or no running water.

So, say a little prayer of thanksgiving and smile next time you walk into a public facility. And say a prayer of thanks for those who clean them after you—such a thankless job. Give a generous tip to the cleaning person if present!

Father, You have given us so many privileges that we take for granted every day. Open our eyes to see Your simple blessings all around us in our everyday life. Give us a mindset of thanking those who make our lives easier, too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
