Walk the Divine Nature in New Jerusalem

Revelation 21:21 declares, “the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.” New Jerusalem has only one street, one unique, divine way for us to live. It is absolutely NOT like New Jerusalemhuman cities with many different streets going in many directions.

New Jerusalem has “a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street” (Rev. 22:1). The street and the river are together—a way for us to walk and a supply to energize us to walk. All of this is under the throne of God and the Lamb.

Furthermore, the Triune God dwells within us so we have the living throne. We do not get commands from a throne far away but we have the Spirit leading us and supplying us inwardly to keep us on the golden street.

In the New Jerusalem there is one unique street—God’s divine nature….We are walking on the divine street, which means that we are walking in the divine nature. The divine nature has been given to us, and 2 Peter 1:3-4 says that God has granted to us all things which relate to life and godliness and that we may be those partaking of the divine nature. To partake of the divine nature means that we have received the divine nature already. Partaking of the divine nature means enjoying the divine nature….We do not need to receive His nature again, but we have to enjoy it every day.*
