What are the characters that always win

Have you been struggling with your circumstances or the people around you?

Sometimes, it is our character that can help us see the different angles of every situation and help us overcome our struggles.

They say you must learn to manage yourself if you cannot control others or your situation. The way we handle ourselves depends on the kind of character we have.

Thus, what characteristics do we always need to possess to win our struggles?

Now that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we should follow His character towards others and His situations.

Besides, having Jesus’ character could help us always conquer our trials.

What are the characters that always win

Jesus Christ not only redeemed us from the bondage of sin but also became a way for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us.

If the Holy Spirit lives in us, then the characters we need to have are the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.”

We will discuss these fruits of the Holy Spirit and how they can always help us win our struggles.

Loving

God created us because of His unfailing love for us. He sacrificed His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from our sins because of His unconditional love.

Additionally, Jesus Christ willingly obeyed His Father because of His love for Him and the people.

Everything exists because of love. Thus, when we become loving, just like Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven, we will be willing to make sacrifices for our loved ones.

Moreover, despite the world's cruelty, if we still choose to love others who are unlovable, great is our reward in heaven.

Nothing can defeat true love, especially God's love for us.

So, when we choose to love others with the love of kindness, it will be easier for us to be compassionate and helpful to those in need.

Joyful

Having a joyful heart is a positive way to fight against all the struggles we may face.

We cannot enjoy life to its fullest despite the adversities; we would not have a joyful character.

Positive people are the ones who can see great things coming from their difficulties.

Moreover, if we are joyful, our mind and body will follow. We will be optimistic about doing everything we have to do.

Nevertheless, if we do not have joy in our hearts, our minds, and bodies will only be filled with negativity and complaints.

Positive minds attract good things in life since we always find a way to look for the bright side of every negative situation.

Besides, when joyful, we also provide good vibes to the people around us, especially at home.

We could influence our children and spouse in a good way so they could also enjoy the beauty of life despite its storms.

Peaceful

Nothing beats a peaceful heart and mind. The peace of the Holy Spirit gives us calmness and a steadfast heart and soul.

No matter how difficult our situation is or how toxic the people around us are, we can still deal with them nicely and calmly if we are peaceful.

Additionally, if we are peaceful, focusing on achieving our goals will be easier, regardless of the distractions around us.

It is a winning character trait that we need to stand firm amidst adversities in life.

Besides, Jesus Christ had peace in Him, so He was not bothered if people liked Him. He only seeks validation from God

He is not worried about what tomorrow may bring because He knows that our Father in Heaven will never leave or forsake us.

More so, worried people will only suffer mental, emotional, and physical damage, unlike peaceful ones.

They remain calm and confident because they know God is with them amidst the chaos.

Patient

Being impatient will only bring you harm and distraction. Some people unwilling to wait to achieve or get what they want tend to make unwise decisions and hurt others.

Thus, being patient means having a “long temper.” This is about how we respond to the suffering, waiting, and manipulative behavior of others.

Also, it is about enduring much pain and struggle without complaining.

The Holy Spirit produces patience in us to become like Jesus Christ.

It is a winning characteristic that, as we patiently wait for God to answer our prayer, we can remain grateful and hopeful.

Additionally, having long endurance toward others allows us to be more compassionate than rude.

We cannot avoid meeting self-righteous people, yet we can be more patient, as God has been so patient with us.

Kind

The world teaches us to treat people the same way we want to be treated. But a winning character is about being kind, regardless of the treatment you get from others.

When we continue to be kind, even to those who do not deserve it, it might appear that we are demeaning ourselves. Remember that Jesus Christ never treated those who opposed Him harshly.

Part of His seven last words was asking our Heavenly Father to forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. (Luke 23:34)

Jesus Christ’s kindness gave Him victory since He could please God. So, we should be kind like Jesus to receive favor from our Lord. After all, we are not doing it to please others but to seek validation from God.

Nevertheless, being kind does not mean we allow people to invalidate our feelings and hurt us.

It is more about how we treat them respectfully despite their behavior.

Good

Romans 12:21 says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

The world could be cruel because of satan, but God’s goodness will always prevail.

A spirit-filled person will always desire to walk righteously in the Lord. Our goodness brings blessings to others. It benefits others and ourselves as well.

Also, our goodness may not be rewarded here on earth, but we could expect our treasures in Heaven.

Having a good heart gives us more opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, especially for those in need.

Since we experience how good God is, we are more empowered to express the same kind of goodness toward others.

Moreover, our goodness motivates us to become selfless like Jesus Christ. We could express our honor in various ways, such as helping others and obeying God’s command.

Faithful

God rewards those who are faithful to Him. Those who remain steadfast in following God’s will and command never fail.

Deuteronomy 28:13 says, “The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.”

Thus, those faithful to God will experience victory and promotions, as He has promised in His words.

Although it is difficult for us to remain faithful in trials, the Holy Spirit who dwells in us will help us produce a firm faith to hold on to amidst our struggles.

Gentle

Gentleness is about humility. It is not a sign of weakness but a character trait that could lead us to victory. Gentle people are willing to make room for them to improve and change their wrongful behaviors.

More so, it is about being humble enough to accept and love correction that could refine our hearts and minds.

At the same time, if we are gentle, we will correct others with love and ease, without condemnation or judgment.

Gentle people do not want arguments, resentments, and anger because they know that the salvation of others is far more valuable than their pride.

On the other hand, the opposite of gentleness is anger, desire for revenge, and self-righteousness. These characters will bring nothing but shame and harm.

Self-control

If we have self-control, we are already considered conquerors. We can overcome our tempers and emotions toward negative situations and people.

Additionally, self-control means our ability to manage ourselves, including moderation, constraint, and the power to say “no” to our fleshly desires.

Despite our struggles, we can guard our hearts, minds, and mouths to only do what pleases the Lord.

More importantly, self-control will help you win over the things and people you cannot control.

The Holy Spirit dwells in us when we can control our thoughts, words, and actions.

Christlike character always wins

Having Jesus Christ in our lives gives us the power to have His character overcome our life struggles.

Jesus Christ came down here on earth to save us from our sins and show us the kind of character we need to defeat satan and his schemes.

Thus, we should not worry because we are never alone in pursuing Christ-like characters. The Holy Spirit dwells in us, and we can produce His fruit with His power.
