Yes. They hate you. Just look at how it all ends

Yes the government hates you. Yes they intend to harm you.

I had never heard of Neil Oliver before recently, when I came across this clip below that someone had retweeted. He spoke some eloquent words, and truthful, too. He talked about thinking the unthinkable. He explained that he and others are changing from thinking the government and its associated entities are benevolent and wanting to make a positive difference for their people, to believing that government actually wants harm for their people. From believing at best that government is misguided or apathetic in implementing policies that bring stress on the populace, to understanding that these entities are purposeful in their evil against the people.

I know. It’s a hard thing to comprehend. We always want to think the best of people and organizations. But we must stop believing that now. I think the turning point for our thinking on that score has arrived.

One thing that helps me understand where we may be in this long timeline from Genesis to Revelation, is looking ahead to Revelation. What happens in the end? What is history pointing to? What events are hurtling us toward it?

Most importantly, can we begin to see how we get from here, to there? The prophetic dotted line, so to speak.

Evil abounds

All things are propelling toward something. God has a plan, a definite, fixed, unalterable plan. What’s past is history. What’s future is prophecy. It’s all Him.

His current plan will culminate with Revelation 22:21 and we enter the eternal state.

Government may now, (opinions differ) but certainly in the future, will HATE its people. Especially Christian people. We see that in the book of Revelation. President Biden recently gave an inflammatory speech that in tone, content, and optics reminded more than one person of Hitler and his hatred for Jews. Biden had excoriated ‘MAGA’ conservatives, many of whom are Christians.

No Biden isn’t the antichrist, but it’s logical that at some point in God’s prophetic timeline that government would begin to more overtly whip up hatred against believers, since the end of all things shows widespread persecution of us. Nero did it, Hitler did it with Jews, makes sense it’s happening again.

Some of that prophetically predicted hate toward Christians will be passive as it will be apathetic to the starving millions. Other hate will be active as it excludes Christians from the economy and then will simply hunt and kill Christians off.

Let’s look at Revelation 6, 13, and 18 to see that this will be so.

FAMINE: When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come!” I looked, and behold, a black horse, and the one who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.” (Revelation 6:5-6).

At the time this verse was written a denarius was a day’s wage. People will be hungry.

THE MARK: And he causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:16-17).

Of course true Christians on earth at that time will not accept a mark of worship toward anyone but Christ. Thus, they will not be able to participate in the economy at all, neither to buy nor sell. If they are not marked they will likely not be able to trade either, else risking being snitched on and found out, then martyred.

Revelation 18:11-14 and onward states the following

And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo any more— cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; every kind of citron wood, every article of ivory, and every article made from very valuable wood, bronze, iron, and marble; cinnamon, spice, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, and cargo of horses, carriages, slaves, and human lives. The fruit you long for has left you, and all things that were luxurious and splendid have passed away from you and people will no longer find them.

The point here is that though famine will exist all over the world, that people will be hungry and dying, although the multitude of Christians coming to Christ during this period will be excluded from the economy and also dying of hunger, scarcity and want, there WILL be luxuries available. A thriving and ongoing trade in a whole diversity of luxuries will have been ongoing- but only the wealthy will access them. Revelation 18:17 says when Babylon falls the merchants who traded in these things will cry out,

‘for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’

So though it is hard to comprehend that the in-crowd, the rich people, could have such hardened hearts, they will. Any society that hunts Christians in order to behead them is hard. Any society that rejoices at the death of the Two Witnesses to the extent they make it an occasion of gift giving, is hardened.

So though our softened hearts in this time want to disbelieve that our government is callously ignoring the needs of their people, who are crying out over inflation and scarcity and want, it will happen at some point. It can happen, and indeed someday, it will.

I’d said earlier look at how it ends. I’d gone as far as Revelation 18, but Revelation 21 and 22 offer a very different ending for Christians. No matter what we are going through now, no matter what Tribulation Saints will go through in the future, it ends with Jesus reigning in personal, visible form! It ends in holiness and purity and sinlessness! It ends with praise singing and adoration! It ends with perfection, a perfect rule over a thriving and loving people!

If you are a Christian, don’t stop with Neil Oliver or reports like his. We may need to release our attachment to the notion of fair and free elections, or dismiss from our minds that our government is a benevolent government, or negate the notion that we have a caring leadership, but right now Christians have the best leadership of all and we live in a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We have this right now and forever. We might change our thinking, but that doesn’t really matter much, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Our hearts have not changed. Our citizenship has not changed. Our future has not changed.

If you are not in Christ, it is critical that you get right with Christ, NOW. Today is the day of your salvation. Do not put it off. Understand that you are a sinner who cannot please God. Confess your sins, and believe in Jesus who died for those sins and rose from the dead to ascend to the right hand of the Father. You will be saved, and enter a glorious kingdom that will dwell in righteousness forever.
