Not Nice Jesus Words! - Divorce Minister

He called them out as “hypocrites,” “blind guides,” and “fools” (see Mt 23:13-39). Do those names sound like “blessings” and not curses? Or do they sound like a frank, truthful labeling of bad behaviors?

I have little patience for religious people who sit in judgment over faithful spouses. They tell them to “forgive” while ignoring the need for the cheater to repent (see Lk 17:3). Instead of offering a compassionate ear, they judge the faithful spouse for cursing not blessing their cheater.

This post is just a reminder that Jesus treated religious leaders differently than secular people. He did not take a “nice” them into better behavior approach!

Jesus spoke the truth. He labeled the bad behavior appropriately. That is the model we need to follow–Jesus’.
