I just finished having my Bible study and my mind was straying. I was overthinking and almost in tears. All I could say was, โ€˜hold me God, Donโ€™t hurt me.

Immediately I got a response :

I paused for some seconds, and almost argued that. I mean, who can hurt a big God. You wonโ€™t feel it at all, youโ€™re big.

But I caught myself and started thinking about the response.

Many of us unconsciously believe God is strong enough to bear it when we hurt him, so some of us donโ€™t stop to think about what hurt does to God.

I mean, heโ€™s the all powerful God, isnโ€™t he?
You know, sometimes we do these things unintentionally without even knowing what weโ€™re doing.

We donโ€™t stop to think about what this sin we call little does to God.
We believe God is so big and powerful and so he doesnโ€™t have feelings. And even if he has feelings, you donโ€™t think Heโ€™ll feel it like that, we always believe humans hurt more.

Weโ€™re all about ourselves, many times. We canโ€™t even blame ourselves, because we can only carry as much as our physical strength permits.

โ€œSave me, God.โ€
โ€œDonโ€™t let this issue drown me.โ€
โ€œOh God, if this problem ruins me, I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ll ever get over the hurt.โ€
โ€œDonโ€™t let me hurt, God.โ€

Ourselves.
I.
Me.
You.

May we get to the level where we think about how our sin hurts God too.
Where we can not just think about ourselves only, but about God too.

Yes, heโ€™s big.
Yes, heโ€™s all powerful.
Yet, even at that he didnโ€™t want to be by himself so he gave his son so he could have you. To have you, he had to defeat sin and nail our fleshy desires on the cross.

Heโ€™s a pure God, so he made provision for your own purity and righteousness by making his beloved son purchase that for you.

Blood spilled.
Nails pierced through flesh.

All in the process of God making provision for your purity.

Now, that youโ€™re here.

You confessed his son as Lord and you believed in your heart.

But you still stray, we still stray, going to the same cross where he nailed our fleshy desires on the cross to bring back those desires.

Now, go back and think about the process it took God to finally have you to himself.

I donโ€™t know how you see that, but itโ€™s another level of serving breakfast to our heavenly Father.

Imagine you serving God breakfast, you no dey fear?
