A High Calling - Ordained by God: Mama, Mom, Mommy, Mother - A Nighttime Prayer

Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all. -- Proverbs 31:28-29 (NKJV)

Please Pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Many of us are troubled, weary, alone, and overwhelmed. Even so, we know that You and You alone are the One True Living God, Maker of all things, visible and invisible. Yet, we need to be reminded to keep our eyes on You. Instead, we look down, or look at the past, or look at the mountains before us as insurmountable. We know that all of those things are lies from the evil one, yet sometimes, they feel true.

Help us to return to You, the Holy Author and Perfecter of our faith, that we might keep our eyes on You at all times. That we would not grow weary in our well-doing as mothers, wives, daughters, aunts, and granddaughters. That we would hear Your voice clearly as You call our names, reminding us that we are daughters of the Most High King. That we would serve You by loving and caring for our families and our community to the best of our ability.

Help us to remember that You see and hear all things. That You knew us before the world began, and that You alone are Holy. Let nothing come between Your Holy Presence and us, Abba Father. Keep us covered by Your mighty wing. And finally, align with us that we may teach, shelter, comfort and lead those young ones in our care, that they will look to You and You alone in all things, in all ways, and at all times, in the mighty name of Jesus.

In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen.
