A Simple Prayer of Thanksgiving for Life’s Everyday Blessings

Written by: Marianne White

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”
-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)

Rejoicing always is an act of faith, declaring that we believe God is with us in every moment, whether those  moments are filled with laughter or tears.

We can rejoice in the midst of sorrow because we have a Savior who has overcome the world and who promises us His joy, which is complete and everlasting.

Giving thanks in difficult times is an act of trust and surrendering to God, we believe that God is still good and that He is working through our circumstances for a greater purpose.

It also reminds us to pray continually to develop our relationship with God. Turning our thoughts, worries, and hopes over Him throughout the day, knowing He hears us and cares for us.

The more we pray, the more we learn to trust Him, and the more we recognize His presence in our lives.

It reminds us that we are not alone in facing the challenges of our life.

Dear Lord,

I come before you with a heart full of gratitude, humbled by the countless blessings you have bestowed upon me. Today I pause to offer  you a simple prayer of thanksgiving, for every blessing that fills my life. Thank you for the gift of life. Each new day is an opportunity to experience your grace, to grow in love, and to walk in your ways. The mere fact that I wake up each morning is the testament of your mercy, for your word says that your mercies are new every morning.

Thank you Father, God, for the gift of health and strength.Whether I am facing challenges, I recognize that every heartbeat and every breath comes from you.In a moment of illness or weakness, I thank you for being my healer and comforter. You are always with me, providing strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

Thank you Lord, God, for the shelter and the clothes that you provided us. These are the simple things, but they are daily reminders of your provision and protection. Thank you for providing my need according to your riches in glory.

Father, God, I am grateful for the people you have placed in my life. Thank you for the love of family, the friendship of others, and the kindness of strangers. I thank you for the joy and support they bring to my life. Help me to cherish these relationships.

I am also thankful for the gift of work and your purpose.Thank you for the talent and abilities you have given me,  I know that all good things come from your hand, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you in all that I do.

Thank you for the quiet  moments in nature that allow me to reflect on your greatness and your love.

I thank you for the days and hours you have given me. Help me to use my time wisely, to live fully in the present, and to appreciate the small moments that make up a life well-lived.

Thank you for being my constant companion. Your word promises that you will never leave me nor forsake me, and I have experienced the truth of those promises in my life.

Thank you for the sacrifice you made  on the  cross, for the forgiveness of my sins, and for the new life I have in you. This is the greatest blessing I could ever receive, and I give you all the glory and praise for your boundless love and mercy.

Lord, I offer this prayer of thanksgiving, for always helping me to live each day with a grateful heart. May I never grow weary of counting my blessings, even in the midst of trials. Teach me to see Your hand in all things, both great and small, and to respond with praise and gratitude. Help me to be a vessel of your love, sharing the blessings you have given me with others, and pointing them to the source of all good things .

In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
