CASTING YOUR CARES

“You’d do the assignment abi?” Baby asked, searching my eyes while hoping I don’t say no.

Wait, who even says no to baby? The love of everyone’s life. Lol.

He dumped the pile of books on my laps and zoomed off. Baby. I’d do anything for him. I half dragged and half carried the books to my mini flat. A flat I’ve been sharing with Mimi for two years.

I could already picture myself writing and finishing Baby’s assignment. I’d do it the way I won’t even do mine.

I pushed the door of the flat open and dumped the books on the closest chair. I glanced at Mimi, she was really busy with something. She gave me a warm smile and continued.

I walked over to her table, and she answered before I even asked, “Is it not that your Baby? Baby gave me this assignment to do and I don’t even think I’m gonna do it. I don’t know what to do with all these books.”

“Which Baby?” I asked.

She looked at me like I was crazy. I had just one Baby.

I peered into the books. Same assignment. Same Books. Same handwriting. Same everything.

I was stunned.

Baby didn’t believe I’d actually do the assignment, he already asked someone else. Baby doesn’t trust me.

My phone rang.

Alice. I answered.

“Hey?”

“Yes?” I asked, wondering why she’s even calling.

“Please help me tell Baby that I couldn’t get the assignment done. I’m very busy at the moment. Maybe next time.”

The line went dead.

Nonsense. A third person. Who am I anyway if he doesn’t trust me? Bah! I arranged his books, with the assignment undone. Arranged the books he gave to Mimi too, and placed them by the door.

I would have actually done the assignment, even though I am so sure Mimi and Alice would never do it. He knows too. Yet he couldn’t trust me. He couldn’t trust just me.

Baby.
Everyone’s Baby.
Bah!

What most people do is, they give God their cares, their worries and their struggles and you know the silly thing they do? They take the cares back. Yes, they take it back before they even leave God’s presence. Do you know how? They still dwell on those issues they’ve cast on God. They still tell people about those issues. They still walk about feeling heavy with issues and problems. They still worry about everything they’ve given to God!
You gave nothing to Him, if you can’t even prove to yourself that something out there, someone you’ve never seen is staying awake on your matter!

You can’t worry about what you’ve already surrendered to God.
You can’t stay all night worrying and thinking about what you claim you’ve surrendered to God. You gave him nothing, man! And even if you even surrendered anything to him, you collected it back from him because you don’t believe he can actually worry for you. You don’t believe He can make it work as fast as you can make it work. So, you just collect it.

When you give God anything, just leave it there and walk free!

It’s just like you telling God, “I believe you, man, but you see, this stuff I’m trusting you with, I don’t see you doing it. Maybe it’s too much for you to handle, just the way it was for me. I just have to continue with my worries and thinking. Maybe something, anything would come out of it.”

Ah, ignorance.

This is what destroys us. What can worry do for you, it’s just like getting water from a well when there is a tap close by.

Ah, ignorance.

Anybody who has cast his or her issues on God doesn’t have it anymore. That’s faith, darling! You already believe nothing weighs you down anymore. What do you think you’re doing worrying about what you’ve already cast on God. Do you really think the creator of the whole world is incompetent? Or you think God, as big as He is needs an assistant worrier? No, come on! God would not touch your worries and cares if you keep giving it to him and taking it back. Just give it to Him, and let it go.

I tell you again, cast your cares on God and walk free!

You trust God, isn’t that enough? What are you worried about?

Worry is a sin.
Yes, worry is unbelief.
Worry is lack of faith.
And God’s Word says anything that is not of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23)

If you don’t believe that God is able to carry every thing you give to him, it’s going to prick your faith and eventually destroy it.
