Do You Lean Toward Trust or Suspicion? - A Nighttime Prayer

“Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.” – Exodus 34:6 (NLT)

Please Pray:

Dear Triune God, I admit it, I have trust issues with you. When my thoughts slow down, and only when I slow down, I feel the disappointments. These disappointments have led to my trust issues. I try to bravely proclaim that I trust in you but in those quiet and slow moments, I realize I don’t. My suspicions overtake me. So in this slow moment, I am choosing to remember that you are full of compassion and mercy, slow to anger, and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

…You are full of compassion.

…You are full of mercy.

…You are slow to anger.

…You are filled with unfailing love.

…You are faithful to me, my people, and in every single situation in my life.

In this moment I feel awe once again at who you are. I am growing to understand that you have a larger story for me, even as I struggle with my trust issues. I am choosing trust over suspicion. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
