Fasting Stories: Tenijah Morris — Daniel Fast Journey

    By Tenijah Morris from Antigua

Why do you think fasting is important?

Fasting is very important in a believer's life, especially if you want to know more about your creator Yahweh. It's in these times you can feel his presence more. It's also an opportunity for you to ask him for divine wisdom so you can understand the scriptures more.

What does your personal fasting practice look like?

This year was my first ever 3 days dry fast without food or water. I must admit it was the most reviving fast I ever did. I really needed that ignition! I felt Yahweh's presence more, I felt his love, it's a feeling I can't even explain.

I did that fast during a really difficult time in my life. I really needed clarity from Yahweh and his divine intervention during those tough times. But I usually do social media fast sometimes they last for a week or 2 weeks. And mid-interval fast for a day.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to fasting?

My biggest challenge when it comes to fasting is distraction, I have a toddler daughter and it can be quite challenging as a single mum multitasking and homeschooling while wanting to devote more of your time to Yahweh without the distractions.

Can you recall a time when God gave you a breakthrough, revelation, or taught you something through fasting?

During the time of my 3 day fast I really grew spiritually, I felt like I could do anything because Yahweh was there with me. It was also a time where I really needed his divine intervention and healing. That fast was very personal, writing about it now brings tears to my eyes. It's during those times he spoke to me through his word, his word was my manna feeding me each day in the wilderness.
