God calls you by name rather than calling you by the sin you commit.

Good day beautiful people

I hope that this message meets you in good health. Today I desire to remind us of God’s steadfast love for humanity, through pointing us back to the power of the blood which Christ shed on Calvary, which cleanses us of all our sins. This message has been birthed from the passage Hebrews 11:32.

John 3:16 ~ “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

I don’t know about you but in the past when I’d hear about the life of Samson I would envision an immoral man who was obsessed with women, who had long flowing locks, with excessively huge bicep muscles (I mean this is how he was portrayed in the old school movies). Anyways it wasn’t until one Sunday afternoon that the total truth about Samson was revealed to me. In the bible Samson is recorded as a man of FAITH!…. Gobsmacking right…🤯. When meditating on the given sermon I was reminded that God doesn’t remind us of our sin, He is a loving God who is faithful and JUST to forgive, He keeps no record of wrong, and He calls us by name rather than calling us by the sin we commit. There is honestly no greater love than the love of God.

Hebrews 11:32 ~ How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets.

Judges 16:28 ~ “Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes.”

Judges 16:29-31

^^^What made Samson a man of great faith??? Well I guess it takes a lot of faith to believe that God can still use you at your weakest point. Even though he lost his vision and was bound in chains he still believed that God could restore his strength, and use him to be Israel’s deliverer at that moment in time.

I also remembered God’s response when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. The Lord didn’t call out ‘Where are those disobedient servants of mine’? Or ‘Where are those fruit thieves’. He called out to man (Adam and Eve) ‘Where are you’, which symbolises God’s great love for man, and His desire for intimacy with us! God saw Adam as His beloved son and today I want to encourage those living in habitual sin to turn back to God! He’s calling out to you and knocking on the door of your heart. The Lord is always willing to forgive! Aspire to put the cross before you and the sinful pleasures of this world behind you. And for those who would like to accept the gift of salvation and enter into an intimate relationship with God, you can do so today by accepting Christ Jesus as your Saviour and living a life of total surrender. Being part of God’s family means you get to enjoy life everlasting, death is not the end, as well as having the Holy Spirit indwell inside of you (having a personal relationship with God Himself).

Genesis 3:8-9 ~ “When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

1 John 1:9 ~ “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

Yes we are sinners, and sin is a serious problem, but Christ solved the problem of sin on the cross. We no longer have to live lives dominated by sin, but can overcome through the power of the Holy Spirit. Don’t allow a guilty conscience to hinder you from drawing closer to Christ. God is a loving, caring, kind, compassionate, and forgiving God who sees you as His precious child.

Romans 8:5-10 ~ “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God.”
