God’s Word: Seed for the Sower, Food to eat | HealthWealthVictory

Feeling oppressed with financial needs: debts and bills to pay, food to buy? Go to the Word of God. It will be like the rain that will water the earth to provide seed for the sower and food to eat.

Isaiah 55:10-11

10 For, as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return before having watered the earth, fertilizing it and making it germinate to provide seed for the sower and food to eat,

11 so it is with the word that goes from my mouth: it will not return to me unfulfilled or before having carried out my good pleasure and having achieved what it was sent to do.

The Word of God

In times of financial need, and any need for that matter, I go to the Word of God.

I may not find a direct and instant solution to my problem but if I got His promise in His word, it is as good as done.

It is as it is said here in the first reading today:

For, as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return before having watered the earth, fertilising it and making it germinate to provide seed for the sower and food to eat, so it is with the word that goes from my mouth.. Isaiah 55 10-11

God’s Word in essence is seed for the Sower and Food to eat.

Financial Distress

One of the challenges of being a Virtual Assistant is that I’m paid by the hour but the hours of work are not set, it depends on the work my employer gives me.

That’s why I’m starting this online digital content business, primarily to bring the good news to the afflicted, to inspire the dreamer in Christ, and secondly, to earn recurring residual profits.

This is so that I don’t have to depend on my job salary and will have more than enough for my needs and overflow for every good work cause I desire to give 90% to causes God cares about.

But starting the kind of business I started needed money, my SpeakChrist with Lovenotes digital printable shop, which I sustain with income from my online job.

And now that I work less, I have less income which means less money for the business and less for my needs.

Now I find myself in such a great financial bind, I have to admit: debts by the thousands, bills not current, and budget so tight.

I need to track where every cent of my money is going and the more I track so little money, the more I become worried.

Worse, I find myself frustrated and exasperated with my family depending so much on me for needs: food, water, electricity, gas – the major bills.

I easily snap at them sometimes and it seriously is causing me anxiety and mental anguish.

I don’t want to be like that. In fact, this has always been my desire, to be able to bless and provide for my family.

I want to be a joyful giver.

Seed for the Sower, Food to Eat

So I go to the Word of God and, truly, God’s word never fails to speak to me in whatever situation I find myself in.

Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 34:4-5, 6-7, 16-17, 18-19

4 I seek Yahweh and he answers me, frees me from all my fears.

5 Fix your gaze on Yahweh and your face will grow bright, you will never hang your head in shame.

6 A pauper calls out and Yahweh hears, saves him from all his troubles.

7 The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them.

17 They cry in anguish and Yahweh hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.

18 Yahweh is near to the broken-hearted, he helps those whose spirit is crushed.

19 Though hardships without number beset the upright, Yahweh brings rescue from them all.

This Word soothes my soul and lifts up the burden that weighs heavy on me.

And then this Gospel reading gives me direction for what I need to do:

Matthew 6:7-15 7

7In your prayers do not babble as the gentiles do, for they think that by using many words they will make themselves heard.

8 Do not be like them; your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9 So you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be held holy,

10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.

11 Give us today our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven those who are in debt to us.

13 And do not put us to the test, but save us from the Evil One.

My Father knows what I need before I ask Him. I am blessed of the Father.

So all I need to do is focus on seeking His kingdom first and doing His will in my life so that it is done in my world as it is perfectly done in heaven.

God’s assurance:

  • He will provide for my daily needs

Give us today our daily bread. Matthew 8:11

And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven those who are in debt to us. Matthew 8:12

  • He will help me pass this test and save me from the evil spirit of oppression.

And do not put us to the test, but save us from the Evil One. Matthew 8:13

These His words are enough for me.

so it is with the word that goes from my mouth: it will not return to me unfulfilled or before having carried out my good pleasure and having achieved what it was sent to do. Isaiah 55:11

So I will trust and obey

Now Your turn
