Jesus the reason for the season.

Good day beautiful people

I hope that today’s post meets you well? I know that this time of the year is very busy for millions of people around the world, but I believe that it is essential for us to always remember the true reason for the season, and to always stay focused on what truly matters.

Whilst sitting in the hospital chapel some eye catching colours on a Christmas tree grabbed my attention, and reminded me of the great love which God has for mankind. It’s so wonderful and refreshing to come to realise that God can speak to us through creation.

John 3:16 ~ “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Psalm 19:1-4 ~ “The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.”

A Christmas colour theme rendition

When I see red baubles I’m reminded of the precious cleansing blood which Christ shed on Calvary! I’m reminded of God’s great love and sacrifice which brings about freedom and forgiveness. I’m grateful for the cross!

1 John 1:7 ~ But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Gold baubles point me to the fact that I serve the King of all kings. The Lord is robed with majesty and I have been adopted into God’s ROYAL family.

Psalm 93:1 ~ The LORD is king! He is robed in majesty. Indeed, the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

The colour green has always represented growth and rebirth for me, and through the wonderful gift of salvation all who accept are able to experience being born again (our spirit man is no longer destined to eternal damnation for we live forever through Christ). We are new creations no more in condemnation because of the grace of God. Thank God for regeneration (being made new and being able to live a life filled with a peace which surpasses all human understanding).

Ephesians 2:5 ~ that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

2 Corinthians 5:17 ~ This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Silver sparkles enthral my eyes and my mind, they almost leave me mesmerised. When I see silver baubles hanging on a tree I’m reminded of God’s precious thoughts towards me. I am precious, I am loved by God, I am noticed by God, and I am the apple of my Heavenly Father’s eye.

1 Peter 2:9 ~ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s short read, and I pray that the Holy Spirit in you will cause you to shine and sparkle brightly for the whole world to see the love of Christ through you. God gave up His life through taking on human flesh and dying on the cross on Calvary, and because of this anyone who believes can live forevermore. I’d like to remind us all that we too can bring light into this dark world by giving. Giving is a powerful tool which can open doors, it’s a way in which we can express our love towards others. Remember you don’t have to go outside of your means to do this, even the simple act of dropping a cereal box to a food-bank is a great act of love.

1 John 3:16 ~ “We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

Continue to stay safe, God bless and have a merry Christmas.

Love from
