Neglecting God's way is risky for your salvation - Raising Zion

risky for your salvation

When we live in neglect, we give room for sin in our lives. We have the best discipline in Christ that protects us from an unpredictable heart and an unstable mind.

In Christ alone, our hearts stay guarded, and our minds stay healthy. Yet we tend to stray away in neglect and find ourselves in much hurt and despair.

Instead of staying focused on the war, King David committed multiple sins.

Instead of preserving his consecration, Samson wasted his youth away with strange women and sexual lusts.

Dinah, daughter of Jacob, was led by her curiosity (independent spirit) to venture alone into a strange land unescorted. Her sexual assault eventually led to great destruction.

How is neglecting God’s way risky for your salvation?

When we neglect the great salvation God has given, we put ourselves at risk. What we have heard through the ages, from Genesis to Revelation, is to prepare us for His soon coming. The doctrines and instructions we are exposed to need to be the foundation of our daily walk. The love of God builds us to seek Him daily. When we reject His word and disobey it, we return to our old sinful ways. Unrepented sin separates us from God.

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Hebrews 2:3

Do not neglect God’s gift in you. We receive different spiritual gifts as we enter into the Christian life. All are directly God-given or given by God through impartation by the laying on of hands. When we don’t bother about how God desires to use us, we put ourselves in the way of death.

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

1 Timothy 4:14

Dear brother, and sister, we cannot afford to neglect this great salvation God has given us. We have a clear purpose in life. Do not be deceived by every wind of doctrine. Your life is precious to God. Seek His face every day. Let us work out our salvation in fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).

Jesus is coming soon. Praise God and Amen!
