Our All-Inclusive Entrance into New Jerusalem

Recent posts are about the Triune God giving us an entrance into New Jerusalem.

New JerusalemOur entering into the New Jerusalem involved God the Father in eternity, God the Son coming to die on the cross for us to accomplish redemption, and also God the Spirit reaching us and searching within us in order to sanctify us and bring us unto the obedience of Christ. Our entrance into the holy city furthermore involved the law and the entire angelic realm. If we have this view, our realization of our all-inclusive salvation will be strengthened. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit are in this salvation, the law works for this salvation, and the angels are expecting something to happen in this salvation.*

When we receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Redeemer from sin and as our eternal life, we have the entrance into New Jerusalem. This guarantees our eternal participation in the city. After this we still need to grow in this new life to enter further into the city.

To grow in life is to gain more of the Christ we already received. He is unsearchably rich (Eph. 3:8) and we can experience more every day! The more we experience Christ, the more He is formed within us (Gal. 4:19) and the more we are conformed to His image (Rom. 8:29).

The ultimate issue of our growth is New Jerusalem. This is for God to “display in the ages to come the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Eph. 2:7). Our growth is for this display.
