Prayer of Power - 2 Timothy 1:7 - Divorce Minister

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

-2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV

What I have found dealing with anxiety and fear is that this verse has power!

I recite 2 Timothy 1:7 over and over again in my mind as prayer when I feel myself getting consumed with fear and anxiety. And the verse serves as a spiritual sword cutting through the bonds of the Evil One setting my heart free.

It serves as a reminder to me as well.

God has not saved and redeemed me to leave me cowering in the corner passively taking blows from the Evil One. Rather God has made me into a man of power. That is the spirit He has imparted in me!

So, next time you find yourself spiraling down into a cowering position filled with anxiety over the “what if’s,” I recommend taking up this verse and fighting back.

Make it your battle prayer and “watch” as the Enemy flees!

Today, I thankfully feel less entwined with those contrasting feelings since I have been back to the city of my alma mater a few more times with Mrs. DM. Obviously, a version of this … Continue reading "Conflicted Feelings at Reunion"

Happy Father’s Day, Faithful Spouses! Father’s Day is a complicated holiday for many. To me, it represents a restored dream. When my first marriage ended, I was left wondering if I would ever get to be a father. God answered that question in affirmative when I married Mrs. DM becoming an instant father to her … Continue reading "Happy Father’s Day, Faithful Spouses!"

New attention to their appearance A telltale sign of cheating is a new found focus on one’s appearance. This might manifest via going on a diet, increased exercise routine, or changing hair colors and style. In and of itself, this does not equate to cheating. However, the motive behind these changes is worth considering. I … Continue reading "New attention to looks!"
