Praying Psalm 23

Scripture

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23— NIV

Pray

Dear Father, thank you for being my shepherd and leaving the 99 to come to rescue me, a bummer lamb. Thank you for leading me in the right direction though the path is narrow. Because you are my Father, I don’t need a thing. I was comforted as I lay in the green pasture and listened to the quiet water. Even when I walk in the darkest valley and can’t see, I know there’s no reason to be afraid because you are right there beside me. Your rod and staff are such a comfort to me. Thank you for seating me at your table as my enemies look on. I bow as you anoint my head with oil. I am overflowing with you. I am your child and know that your goodness and love will live in me as I live with you forever.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

The Girl Who Doesn’t Like Me and I Don’t Know Why

She has a name. But in my house, she’s referred to as The-girl-who-doesn’t-like-me-and-I-don’t- know-why. Do you have anyone in your life like that? You rack your brain trying to figure out what you did to make her dislike you but come up blank. Read more...
