Stephen: A Biblical principle of Success and Blessing from His Life and Story - Christian Personal Development
- ·January 4, 2020
The story of Stephen presents an interesting biblical principle of success and blessing which I believe will go a long way to help you in your decision to achieve greatness on this beautiful earth. It has helped me since I discovered it many years ago.
Have you heard about the devoted Christian disciple of Jesus called Stephen? He was the first Christian martyr whose story was glamorously written in the Bible book of Acts. His short life was indeed an inspiration for the people at his time and even to present-day Christians.
What is Christian martyr?
A martyr is someone who suffers and is, sometimes, killed because of his or her devotion to a cause. A Christian martyr is someone who suffers and is killed for supporting and standing firmly for the cause of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now I am not asking you to become a martyr in this post. No. In case you are already turning your back on this post. I only want you to learn a proven biblical principle of success and blessings from the life of the man called Stephen.
Biblical Principle of Success and Blessing from the Stephen Story
Stephen was an interesting disciple of Jesus Christ who performed tasks under the mighty power and inspiration of the Spirit of God. He stood for what the gospel stood up to the point of death. He carried out the duties assigned to him with all his heart and shown like start while on this duty.

Bible passages about Stephen’s faith
I want you to read some passages about this interesting guy from the book of Acts:
- He was full of faith: “…and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit…” Acts 6:5.
- He did great wonders: “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people” Acts 6:8.
- He faced persecution: “Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen…disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke” Acts 6:9-10.
- Heavenly glory shined on him: “And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel” Acts 6: 15.
Can you see those interesting things written about the person of Stephen by the writer of the book of Acts? I want you to see more.
He was a Dedicated Christian
Stephen was a dedicated Christian who yielded his spirit, soul, and body for the work and the cause of the Lord. In him, the Spirit of God found a ready and willing vessel He could reach out to the world with.
You want to add those beautiful statements above to the interesting narration he gave the council about the history of Israel, the cause of Jesus which he was ready to die for in chapter 7. You will need to read that. Without looking into a book, he told the story putting his audience and the cause he was fighting for into perspective right from the time of Abraham!
Yielding your spirit, soul, and body for the work and cause of our Lord Jesus Christ present to you a proven biblical principle of success and blessing. God’s Spirit desires vessels who He can reach out to the world with. Vessels bursting with boldness and confidence. Are you ready to embrace this noble cause! Are you ready to yield your vessel to this worthy Christian cause?
You will do well if you do that. I am wishing you all the best.
