What Happens When There is a Disconnect? Jennifer Waddle Blog

For those who know me well, they know that I absolutely LOVE to be alone. Disconnecting from the world is my way of refueling, and I covet those times like no other.

However, and that is a BIG HOWEVER, being disconnected from God and from others is a real detriment to our lives. It’s those times when you simply cannot feel the presence of God and you think that others don’t care about you that can overshadow the truth.

So, what is the truth of the matter?

When there is a disconnect between you and the Lord, the short circuit is ALWAYS on your end. It is your outlet that is glitchy…your plug that is faulty…your breaker that is tripped.

Now, please understand that I am writing these words to myself as well. There are times when I feel so out of it, so discombobulated, that I need a complete rewiring of my heart and mind!

What happens when there is a disconnect, between us and God, isn’t that He has left us or abandoned us, it’s that WE have unplugged ourselves from His constant power in our lives. We have decided that we need to take ACTION with or without Him.

But what if? What if He is asking us to simply remain connected and WAIT for His current (His Spirit) to flow through us?

On the other hand, when we feel disconnected from others, the problem may or may not be on our end. Listen, WE HAVE NO CONTROL over other people’s actions. Unless we are corralling a two year old to stay behind a fence so they won’t run into the street, WE CANNOT CONTROL WHAT OTHERS DO.

The key is to not allow that disconnect to zap our strength AND to remain connected to God by doing exactly what He has empowered us to do. His electrical current bypasses any short circuits caused by others.

Make sense?

So, today, your job is to check your connections. Secure yourself in the ONE UNFAILING power of Christ and stop worrying about the loose wires between you and others. God’s got this. He’s got you. And He promises never to disconnect.

“The Lord is righteous in her midst,
He will do no unrighteousness.
Every morning He brings His justice to light;
He never fails…” Zephaniah 3:5 NKJV
