When stress begins to takeover.

Good day purposeful people,

I hope that today’s post meets you well?

In life we may feel pressed from every angle, but with Christ on our side we will not be crushed beyond hope. We mustn’t allow the tensions of life crowd out God’s living word from our hearts. It can be very discouraging when you feel that everything is spiralling out of control (not going your way), BUT we serve an almighty God who is always in control, hallelujah!

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 ~ “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.”

So what can one do to prevent stress from completing taking over their life?…

1. Accept and believe that you’re loved: Sometimes people may find it hard to accept the love of God, or love from others because they ‘feel’ they do not deserve it. They ‘feel’ that they’re not worthy of love because of a certain flaw. But the blood which Christ shed on Calvary is a reminder to us that we are worth dying for. Never forget that the blood of Christ Jesus covers ALL sin. Also some people reject love out of fear, the fear of being hurt by others. But we MUST give love a chance, and don’t forget that people will disappoint you intentionally or unintentionally, just as you at some point in your life will let others down, but this shouldn’t deter you from loving! Love is a beautiful thing. Don’t miss out on it. And don’t forget that the love of God is unfailing!!!

John 3:16 ~ “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Psalm 136:26 ~ “Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever.”

Lamentations 3:22 ~ “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.”

2. Don’t let your emotions control you: Don’t explode… People shouldn’t feel like they’re walking on egg shells when around you, this is not a godly attribute to have. Don’t become an individual who is easily offended and let’s petty matters destroy good relationships. Learn to forgive and let God take care of difficult relationships.

3. Enjoy the here and now: Tomorrow has enough worries of it’s own! So, just enjoy the now instead of worrying about the future. Worry robs us of the quality time we could be spending with our loved ones! Don’t miss out on happy moments because your mind is elsewhere. Be thankful for the time which God has given you with family, don’t waste time sulking and throwing yourself a pity party to the point where you ruin the mood for others.m

Matthew 6:34 ~ “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

4. Pray always: God wants to hear your voice and as a believer you should be communicating with God DAILY! Both day and night. Seek Him for help at all times, He’s the perfect Father and wants us to depend on Him. Don’t ever fall into the trap of thinking that once you get through a challenge that you’ll get back to God…BIG MISTAKE. Why? Because life is FULL of challenges, and once one worry is dealt with, another issue will arise.

1 Timothy 5:5 ~ “Now a true widow, a woman who is truly alone in this world, has placed her hope in God. She prays night and day, asking God for his help.”

^^ We should ALL pray and seek God for help DAILY!

I think during difficult times it’s super important to know that you’re not alone. Surround yourself with caring family members and friends, let them love on you and ACCEPT their love! YOU ARE LOVED!!!!

God bless

Have a fruitful and productive week.
