Why Does This Suddenly Feel Like Sin? — A Nighttime Prayer

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.” —Romans 6:22 (ESV)

Please Pray:

Holy Father,

I can’t thank You enough for setting me free from the power of sin through the redemptive work of Your Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross. Thank You for giving me new life, calling me Your child, and assuring me through scripture that my future is secure in eternity with You. Until then, You’ve given me the Holy Spirit to help me overcome the ongoing struggle with my sinful flesh.

I’m so grateful that the Holy Spirit not only exposes sin but helps me address it, and doesn’t give up on me when I am slow to obey. Thank You for past victories over sin that are part of my testimony to Your transformative power. I pray that You would help me keep my eyes fixed on You and Your Word when others accept what You’re pointing out as sin. Provide light through scripture for the steps I need to take on the path of righteousness we’re walking together.

In Jesus’ powerful name, amen.
