Your Story Might be a Lifeline for Someone (Day 9 of our challenge against seasonal depression) - EncouragementMama.com
Your message may be someone else’s answer.
It doesn’t matter if you have led the most boring, uneventful life on the planet. Your story matters.
Right here, right now, somewhere in the big wide world, someone needs to hear your personal testimony.
Don’t believe me?
Think about it this way:
There used to be the “old” you. Now, there is the “new” you…in the Lord Jesus Christ. And only you can tell the story of that beautiful transformation. Only you can share the ugly stuff of what the old you was like. Only you can explain the newness you have in Christ and how it makes a difference in your pilgrimage on earth.
*This exercise takes us out of our depression by getting us to realize the wonderful works God has done in our lives through His Son. It gets us to focus on helping someone else for a moment. And, hopefully, it will lead to a new perspective–that your current troubles can equip you to help someone else one day.
What is your story?
Today’s Action:
Use these prompts to write or type your testimony. Even if you don’t have a single person to share it with right now, it is of utmost importance to record your testimony for future generations. After all, if you were to die today, would your friends and family members know you story? Or, would it die with you?
Take some time on this exercise and make your story count!
- As a child, my views about God were influenced mostly by…
