How should I rise after facing rejection

Rejection is the act of not accepting someone. It could not allow someone to get hired or join any group. It is about refusing someone’s feelings or opinions.

Have you ever been to a place where you feel like the people around you do not want you?

Was there a time wherein you felt so tired of trying to please everybody but still not enough for them to accept you?

We often face rejection in the workplace, school, church, or home.

Considerably, people have various effects when rejected, such as losing their self-esteem and getting tired of seeking others’ validation instead of God’s.

Some could also hinder them from moving forward out of fear of rejection.

If you cannot rise from your fall of rejection, then you are allowing satan to steal your joy and the bright future God has prepared for you.

It could distract you from achieving your goals for yourself and your family.

How Should I Rise After Facing Rejection

Whether people do not accept your opinion or make you feel unwanted, you have to choose to rise on your knees to move on with life and experience God’s plans for you.

Although it is difficult to get back on your knees after so many “No,” God is willing to offer His hands for you to stand up again and bring back the joy you have lost.

Here are some ways to help you get over rejections.

Know Truth

“You are not worthy, and You are not beautiful. Your opinions are simply not valid. You are not just good enough.”

Are these phrases familiar to you?

If the world tells you you are not worth accepting, God accepts and loves you dearly; that is the truth you need to know.

If people around you find you unlovable, then in God’s eyes, you are much loved and valued for Him to sacrifice His son just to save you.

Moreover, the more we know the truth about ourselves from the One who created us then, the more we can be confident not to listen to the lies of this world about who we are.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well,” according to Psalms 139:14.

David knew the truth fully well about how God made him. He was fearfully and wonderfully made because God is pleased with everything He created.

Even before he became a king, David was already full of confidence in his ability to defeat Goliath despite his rejections, even from his brothers.

People, including his brothers, told him he was only a shepherd, yet he never listened to them because he knew that God was with him and he could do all things through Him.

The same is true with us, regardless of what the people say about you; when you know the truth in your Creator, they will never hinder you again, even when they reject you.

Pray for them

It is easy to pay for those you love and love you in return. But, it is difficult to pray for those who reject you. God’s words are the opposite of what the world tells us to do. Ironically, God asks us to pray for those who persecute us.

Matthew 5:44 says “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Can we possibly love those unlovable people? If we desire to follow Jesus, I would say yes it is possible for us to do it.

Despite how difficult it is, we must do what God says. When we desire to follow Jesus we need to die for ourselves so we could live for Him, Dying means, doing His will regardless of how we feel.

A Christ-centered life is seeing Jesus as an example on how He treats those who persecuted Him.

He prayed for them even in His last breath on the cross that the Father in Heaven may forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.

Regardless if the person who rejects you is aware or not of what he is doing, you have to pray for him just as Jesus did.

Be More Patient, Kind

Being patient towards others is our way to demonstrate God’s love for people. I know, this could be very difficult if the person keeps on doing things that could hurt you or makes you feel unwanted.

However, patience is more than just waiting for luck to happen in your life. It entails suffering while responding to the person in a gentle and kind manner.

1 Corinthians 13:4 says Love is patient, kind, not jealous, not boastful and proud.

It does not matter whether those who rejected you are your loved ones or not but since you are under God’s love, we have to be patient and kind.

Remember that you are representing Jesus Christ as His ambassadors here on earth.

In addition, He himself is unwanted by people yet, Jesus never treated them badly. He showed kindness in His sufferings.

Keep Going

It is very difficult to achieve your dreams and God-given purpose if you are surrounded with rejections. But, we have to realize it is satan’s scheme for stopping you to become what God has intended you to be.

If Jesus Christ allowed the rejection from the religious leaders and the people to stop Him from doing His purpose, then we would not be saved from our sins.

Moreover, Noah, though righteous in the eyes of God but unwanted by his neighbors. If he allowed their rejection to stop him from building the arc in preparation for the flood, his family would not be saved.

More importantly, if you allow people’s rejection to stop you, you will never fulfill God’s plan for you and your family.

Keep on going despite the rejections. Use it as your ladder to reach your dreams for God, your family, and yourself.

Prove Them

You are born as a conqueror. Satan is using people to deceive you that you are a loser.

John 10:10 added that Satan is using rejections from other people and those you love to crush you and destroy you. He is the thief that comes only to steal, kill, and destroy you.

Besides, Satan would make you believe that you cannot be a good mother for your children.

He would make you believe that you will be forever stagnant because you are not good enough.

Also, he would make you believe that you can never be good enough for your marriage to work

Nevertheless, focus on Jesus as He has come to overcome the world and defeat the enemy.

With Jesus you can prove to them that what they think about you is wrong and you could be the best version of yourself by God’s grace and favor.

Additionally, David had proven that he could defeat Goliath. So, you are you.

Do not listen to them and prove to them that you are not a nobody and you are a conqueror that will be successful in the future.

They say that the sweetest revenge is not fighting back but to prove them that they are wrong about what they think about you.
