A member of the Growing Christian Community shares an article about the importance of agreeing with God to walk with Him.

Can two walk together except they agree?
I’m sure you already know the answer to that.

In case you’re wondering who I’m talking about here, I mean you and God.

How can you comfortably walk together if you don’t agree?

Coming into agreement with God’s Word is sometimes an issue for us and that strains our walk with Him.

If you don’t agree with God’s Word that you are beautiful and that you are royalty, there’s a way an inferiority complex can beat you up, hands down!

I’m big on soaking in everything God says about me, because how else can I survive everything I deal with on a daily?

I read in God’s Word that I’m royalty, I’ve plastered it on my forehead and my walking steps even change unconsciously.

That is faith.
You heard.
You believed.

Now, you’ve got to align your thoughts and lifestyle to that which you have believed.

Our mind attracts what we think about.

I found myself testing it a few times with random things and I’m not even shocked. It could even be that God made me track the results, just so I’d know that what I think and practice is no joke.

Or maybe, it’s life teaching me.

Sometimes, people can come to you to say, β€˜hey, you’re so nice and cool, you don’t seem like you have issues or bad traits at all.’

The human nature in us immediately tries to be defensive (hey, I’m writing from experience) and quick to say, β€˜ah, don’t go there o, I’m imperfect o, I even have plenty of bad flaws I don’t tell people about. I’m just like you, my dear.’

God forbid that I go back to my vomit. I don’t do that anymore.

I’ll politely tell you, β€˜thank you,’ and tell you it’s all God.

See, whether I have flaws or not, the fact that I don’t stand on the rooftop to announce it, means I don’t want it. It isn’t pretense or anything.

It means I’m agreeing with God’s word that I can be as perfect as my heavenly father is.

Every day, I grow.

This might be a lifetime of yielding to God and striving for perfection. But I wouldn’t let my thoughts or words or heart draw me backward or ruin what the Holy Spirit is doing in my heart.

My heart accepts all that Jesus died for me to have, yes, perfection included.
My heart agrees with what God’s Word says. And you’ll see that your body succumbs too.

My mouth agrees. I’ll not use my mouth to confess what I don’t want just to massage your ego, or make you feel like, β€˜we’re all in this together, we aren’t all perfect.’

No, we’re not in this together, why? Because Jesus said I’ve moved on to better things.

Do you think the translation from the kingdom of darkness to light is beans?

No. It’s biiiiig!

Do you find it difficult to agree with God’s Word? How did you deal with it?
