8th Anniversary – June 2025
Year 7 is popularly known as signaling perfection, and biblically, the number 8 represents ‘New Beginnings‘.
God has indeed been faithful to this blog and this wonderful community of readers. I am so grateful to the contributors, for all the comments, feedback and the likes. It seemed like we were always striving to scale bigger but let me tell you sometimes staying right where the Holy Spirit wants you to be is the best decision ever. I remember writing and publishing my very first blog and being so apprehensive, yet it was a fulfilling decision!
At the right time, the Lord will make it happen.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
– 1 Peter 4:10
I look back at the moments, hours, and time poured into this blog. I can say assuredly the glory and honor and thanksgiving belongs to God the Father, Jesus the Son and the wonderful helper, the Holy Spirit. The well of inspiration hasn’t run dry and the ideas have been flowing and refreshing. The life lessons I learnt and shared with others is through the help of the Holy Spirit and by His release to share some of the things that can help another young adult on their journey to being all that God has called them to be.
It’s a tedious journey for sure. I remember the beginning stages where it seemed like everybody else was blogging as well and the space was so saturated, and you just felt lost in the sauce. The desire to stand out and form a unique niche was so intoxicating. For a while I went ahead and was striving to do that. Until I had to realize that if God starts something, He must be the one to sustain it. You can’t stop midway as the car is being driven ask for a change of driver or just suddenly grab a hold of the steering wheel. That’s how major accidents happen!
I remember a conversation I had once where someone that read my blog told me it read very rosy and lighthearted like I hadn’t been through life issues. Lol, the past few years I have realized that firstly you have to be extremely careful the people you allow sow seeds into your life and into your mind. After that the life lessons I went through and some of the things I encountered made me think back to that conversation I wonder if God was trying to show me something.
In all situations we give thanks. God is still able to redeem all things and cause everything to work together for our good.
So why this celebratory blog?
God has been good to us! Yes, to us. You reading this are a part of this community so far as you are here and reading this blog post. I don’t believe anything is by chance. Your browsing was divinely ordered here so you could partake in the perfecting blessings of the Lord, as well as entering the new season of refreshing and blessings God has prepared for each and everyone of us.
Musings with Mo an initiative and platform started in June 2017 after an encounter with the Lord where I was radical about going on this journey with Jesus as my Lord and Master. There have been lots of turns and segways along the way, yet ultimately Christ has been the driver steering the ship where He desires it to go.
I am so excited to see what God leads this initiative into and where things go from here. I am but a humble servant staying at the feet of Jesus to hear and be led by the Holy Spirit on what He wants to teach and illuminate to us next.
The vision remains to become people on a mission to fulfilling God’s purpose and mandate for our lives. The mission is by taking over the media spaces and educating and informing the masses on Kingdom principles and how God wants us to live. This began in the form of relating with young adult issues through a biblical lens. Yet, it is now about evoking the Kingdom of God on Earth as it is in Heaven. Lol, not sure how long I can claim the title of a ‘young adult’, although don’t get me wrong I am still a young adult oo! But as I get ready to exit my twenties, I have seen God’s faithfulness and how He has redeemed something that caused me a lot of fear and anxiety. The fear of adulting well and ensuring to glorify God in my youth birthed a movement that I hope my nieces, nephews and even my children and their children might be able to learn from.
Some Key things I have learnt on the way.
- Do not look face when pursuing an assignment God has given to you. It is your assignment and nobody else and therefore it is your responsibility to steward it well. Other people might want to help and provide support and other times they might steer you in the complete opposite direction from where God wants you to be. You have to be resolute and be discerning to know where it is you are meant to be going. Something might look good, logical and noble on the outside but if God has not sent you in that direction, don’t go there o! Before your case turns to the case of Jonah. He was running away from where God sent him, yet the lesson is still the same. Follow the instructions that have been given to you and things might not be easy, but you will enjoy and experience complete fulfilment.
2. Have a clear vision or some sort of guiding compass for whatever assignment God has given you. Anytime the vision gets cloudy, don’t too scared to go back to the drawing board. It is essential to always get clarity and run with God’s vision versus doing your own thing.
3. Must be very careful to seek the God thing over the good thing. What might look good, reasonable and smart in the eyes of the world isn’t necessarily what God has for you. It is important to check that our ambition is godly rather than selfish to glorify self and not to glorify God. It can be tough.
4. Follow through on what God is calling you to do even if it doesn’t make sense to others. Do not allow anybody to box you and do not box yourself. Keep your senses sensitive and be able to discern when God is speaking through the people around you and through other people. Do not be so stubborn and dogmatic in doing things your own way. Believe that God knows better and that also means He knows the best medium to speak to you through.
5. Do not despise small beginnings.
6. You go farther when you work with outhers versus when you try to figure things out by yourself or when you try to go alone.
