Not long after I wrote a post defining procrastination, and had a lovely conversation with a reader about how to combat the undesirable impulse to put off later what could be done today, I somehow fell prey to the antihero. It’s been far too long since having written anything on here; but again, to my readers who have continued to follow along and like and comment…how do I express my heartfelt gratitude? How can I show you how much I deeply appreciate your audience and support?

Please, let me know in the comments…I would not be continuing this journey if not for you. (Well, of course, the Lord continues to bring you here and keep me writing, but it is through you He is keeping me motivated. What a glorious thing, that you are being used by the Maker of the universe and you may not even realize it.)

Rather than continuing to indulge in my shame, however, let me instead update you in all the things. It’s July, beloved, and much has happened in this life and this world that continues to turn despite the raging conflicts.

  • In May, I attempted to romanticize my life which I shared with you in an earlier post. I’m debating on sharing pictures of what I’ve been capturing these past few months; if I do, it will be over on the socials. 10/10 recommend. Discovering simplicity and beauty in one’s own life has the effect of making one feel like a character from classic literature. (I’m Jo March, in case you were wondering. Or Elinor Dashwood, minus the gorgeous seaside home.)
  • Last month Introvert, Dear became one of my heroes and published my newest piece which you can read here over at their lovely site. They’re just the sweetest; they gave me an author page and everything.
  • Unexplained anxiety and unspecified stomach issues have caused me to give up the one thing I swore I never would. But, going eleven days without coffee has proved to be somewhat of an improvement…I think?
  • My amazing editor completed the copy-edit of my manuscript back in May which means what you probably already know. (Just to confirm: no, I haven’t finished going through it myself.)
  • I’m taking a week off this month and plan on finishing the aforementioned manuscript and then not looking at it again for a month.
  • During the aforementioned vacation, I also plan on attempting to print the poetry collection (which I’ve been talking about since the beginning of this year but #procrastination).

There are other things, too, I suppose…but I’m waiting until those things actually come to pass before actually sharing.

Summer is such a wonderful time for new things and projects and change. It’s almost like New Year’s Day in the middle of the year.

Happy summer, friends. I’ll see you again before the leaves turn gold.

Writer of all the things~My goal is to create, share and tell people about the overwhelming, amazing love of Jesus.
