Are you walking in the fear of God? - Raising Zion

I’ve been meditating on Godly sorrow, and what it really means to walk in the salvation experience.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this self same thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. (2 Corinthians 7:10,11)

What is this fear?

It is the realisation of God’s love and power.

What the world needs right now is an encounter with Jesus. They need to be aware that this time on earth will soon end and there is hope. They don’t need to live in any other fear (scared, afraid, anxious, etc.).

God’s love fills a believers heart and casts away every fear.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

A person saved by Jesus walks in the fear of God. In constant adoration and awe of the fresh revelation he or she receives daily in Christ. The heart is filled with the joy of heaven; he receives a knowledge, wisdom and understanding, for this life and beyond, from above.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. (James 3:17, 18)

Man cannot gain this knowledge, wisdom and understanding reading books or striving for it in this world.

It comes from God directly. No man is worthy of such love from God, but is made worthy by the precious blood of Jesus. To all those who accept Him as God and Saviour.

Why is Christ the only way to God?

Jesus Christ did not die on the cross for Christians. He died for all mankind. Anyone who seeks Him, will find Him. All those who sought Him, found Him – some received Him, many refused (John 6:66) to go in this path.

All those who love Him, know that He loved us first.

The love of God is everlasting and true (Jeremiah 3:13). All those who walk in His Word will walk in power (Luke 4:36).

Let’s look to Jesus and follow His steps; He is the best a man can be. When we follow Jesus, through the Word of God, His Spirit will guide us and enable us to live victoriously.
