EASTER
Dying is different.
Going through such an excruciating pain before dying is another different experience.
Horrible, horrible experience.
Some of us take the process of Jesus’ death as one kind of casual thing, yet no one wants to die.
No one thinks about even going through such an experience before eventually dying. I’m very sure, some of us have nursed this feeling of dying a peaceful death.
Maybe dying in one’s sleep.
Not death by fire.
Not death caused by drowning.
Not death caused by earthquake.
Whenever our time comes — yes, we are not immortals, we’d definitely go home — we don’t want to go home the way Jesus did.
You would have thought, maybe it wasn’t that painful because He is God’s son.
Jesus felt everything! You don’t just understand.
He was human, just like you. He was born, just like you. The Bible even says he was smitten of God. There were no privileges for him. He went through such pain so we could enjoy the privileges now.
He accepted his fate, for you…
The way the whip was dragged on his bare back to ruin his skin.
He thought of you and I and drank the cup, yet we don’t act like he even did anything.
We mock him and crucify him over and over again.
Some of us still carry the iniquities he was bruised for.
We still walk about flaunting our transgressions.
Without being judgemental, I’d say most of us has never talked about how appreciative we are of his blood for us, the way we talk about loved ones who died.
The way we talk about loved ones online.
It’s hard to find someone whisper a “thank you for dying for me Jesus, it was timely. How would I have been granted access to the father?”
Happy Easter, readers.
I love you.
