Need approval? Only seek it from God
Today, you find yourself caught up in a race for accomplishments. You strive to fulfill your purpose at home, work, and in the ministry to grasp a sense of value. However, the pursuit of approval becomes a relentless force in your life. In turn, it overshadows the satisfaction and validation you earn. The hunger for approval starts to burden you with anxiety.
The constant need for validation takes a toll on your well-being, creating a persistent source of stress and unease. And there is nothing wrong with feelings this way.
But remember, in Isaiah 43:4, God speaks reassuringly to you, acknowledging that you are precious in His eyes.
The context of this verse is set against a backdrop of challenges faced by the people of Israel. They were in exile, grappling with feelings of abandonment and uncertainty about their future.
God, through the prophet Isaiah, offers comfort and affirmation. He declares that you are honored and valued in His sight, reinforcing a sense of worth and significance. Despite your hardships and struggles, God's message is a reminder that you hold a special place in His heart.
Moreover, God is the only one who can judge your value.
Unlike humans, God possesses complete knowledge about you. He knows more than just your name; He understands your entire history, from the beginning to now. Every detail of your life is known to Him, leaving nothing hidden or undisclosed.
Meanwhile, human understanding is limited. People only know what you choose to share or what they hear from others. Their knowledge is partial and often influenced by external perspectives. On the other hand, God knows the entirety of your being, including the thoughts and feelings you might keep concealed from the world.
Understanding God's omniscience offers a unique perspective in your pursuit of validation. His knowledge goes beyond the surface, delving into the depths of your heart and mind. This awareness provides comfort and security, as you can rest assured that God's perception of you is comprehensive and unconditional, surpassing the limited understanding of those around you.
That being said, seeking validation solely from people may lead to disappointment, as various factors can influence human perspectives. However, God's assurance is steadfast, unshaken by external circumstances.
Also, God is unchanging.
When you build your sense of self on the opinions and validations of others, you place your identity at the mercy of ever-changing human perspectives. People's views, influenced by circumstances and emotions, can be inconsistent. The key is to recognize this vulnerability and pivot towards a more stable source of validation.
Embrace the idea that God's validation is sufficient whenever you need approval.
His approval carries a weight that surpasses any worldly recognition. As you turn to Him, you discover a sense of worth and significance that remains unshaken by the changing tides of human approval. Make the conscious choice to satiate your need for support in the steadfast love of God, finding a foundation that endures through every season of life.
