The Privileged Life: Sunrises and Sunsets

IMG_7654

From the rising of the sun to its going down, the Lord’s name is to be praised. Psalm 113:3

Yesterday, I was thankful for beautiful sunshine. Today, I’m thankful that I was able to witness a gorgeous sunrise andsunset in the same day.

I remember reading this statement years ago: “Peace is looking at a sunset and knowing Who to thank.” That still rings true with me. There’s something utterly astonishing about the brilliant combination of colors that span the sky for fleeting moments before diminishing to the daylight or darkness. And admission is free to this expansive art gallery of masterpieces!

Every sunrise is a reminder that God is going to be with me and my family during the day. Every sunset is peaceful comfort that He is still in charge and will guard us through the night. Each one is an opportunity for raising my hands in praise.

May tomorrow’s sunrise greet you with His embrace of love. May He hold you in the palm of His hand through the day and into the night.

Lord, what wonderful gifts You give us by painting Your colors across the canvas of heaven. Thank You for letting us glimpse Your great power and creativity. May we praise You from dawn to dusk and beyond! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
