We Find Mercy and Grace in God’s Wisdom

God’s wisdom is eternal and immeasurable; it overcomes every obstacle and will be fully displayed in New Jerusalem.

This is the conclusion of six posts reviewing a hymn of praise for the Father’s wisdom. This hymn was written by Witness Lee, composed by Samuel A. Ward; words; music. New JerusalemThe chorus of the hymn is:
—–How deep and rich Thy wisdom is,
——-O who can search and trace?
—–Yet, Father God, in it we find
——-Thy mercy and Thy grace!

We cannot search God’s wisdom fully but we will appreciate it increasingly in the coming age and in New Jerusalem. And, as the chorus declares, although we cannot fathom everything of God’s wisdom, we do find abundant mercy and grace in it.

Romans 11:32 proclaims, “God has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all.” Then verse 33 praises, “O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!” He has shown mercy to all of us that He might bring forth a new creation out of the fallen old creation. How wonderful! Praise Him!

Mercy reached us, the unqualified, in sin and death; now grace operates in us (1 Cor. 15:10) to bring forth New Jerusalem as the eternal expression of all that God is and has accomplished. This grace is Christ Himself coming to us in incarnation (John 1:14, 16-17) and coming into us in resurrection (2 Tim. 4:22). We grow in grace to bring forth glory to our Lord and Savior both now and eternally in New Jerusalem (2 Peter 3:18). This is God’s eternal plan, “to the praise of the glory of His grace (Eph. 1:6).
