Why God lets you experience heartbreak
Heartbreak is a universal experience that almost everyone goes through at some point in their lives.

We may ask ourselves, “Why me? Why did this have to happen?”
It’s natural to seek answers and understanding when we experience heartbreak; for many people, religion and spirituality play a role in finding those answers.
In this article, we’ll explore the reasons for heartbreak from a religious perspective. Explicitly focusing on why God allows us to experience it.
While there are no easy answers or quick fixes, we can find comfort and solace in our faith by exploring the role of heartbreak in our lives.
Whether deeply religious or seeking a better understanding of this challenging experience. This article will provide insights and perspectives to help you navigate the rugged terrain of heartbreak.
To draw you closer to Him
Sometimes, God allows tough things to happen to us. So that, we can learn important truths that will help us forever.
One of those truths is that God can turn bad things into good things for those who love him. But this doesn’t mean God will do good things for anyone.
Only those who love and follow God will experience his unique goodness.
It’s like how water can refresh anyone, but only those who drink it will be restored. Similarly, God can turn anything for good for anyone, but only those who love him will truly experience it.
In the Bible, Romans 8:28 says that “all things work together for good, for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.“
If we want to experience God’s goodness and have him turn bad things into good for us, we must keep loving him no matter what happens. We must follow his commandments, even when we don’t get what we want. We will miss his goodness if we turn away from God when things get tough.
So, if you’re going through a tough time like heartbreak, remember to keep loving God and following his ways. He may be using this difficult time to teach you an important truth that will benefit you forever.
To help you learn to heed His warnings
Sometimes, God may let us go through a challenging experience to teach us an important lesson.
He warns us in different ways, but if we ignore his warnings, we may end up experiencing what he was trying to warn us about.
It happened to Peter, one of Jesus’ disciples, who was warned three times by Jesus to pray for strength to overcome temptation, but he fell asleep each time and ended up betraying Jesus.
Similarly, if we don’t listen to God’s warnings, we may have to face the consequences of our actions.
God’s warnings are meant to protect us, but if we don’t take them seriously, we may end up hurting ourselves or others. So, listening to God’s voice and obeying his commands is essential.
As Proverbs 3:11-12 says, “My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.”
It means that when God allows us to face difficulties, he loves us and wants to teach us important lessons. Let’s listen to his warnings and trust in his guidance.
To prepare you for something better
Have you ever felt unfortunate because someone you loved broke up with you? It can be tough to go through something like that, but sometimes God lets us experience heartbreak for a good reason.
The thing is, people, are constantly changing. Who you are today differs from who you will be tomorrow or in 10 years. God knows this and looks ahead in ways that we cannot do.
Sometimes, he says “no” to things we want because he knows that in the future, we won’t feel the same way.
It might be hard to understand why God would let us get our hearts broken, but if we stay faithful to him, we might end up with an even better relationship.
Sometimes, God allows our hearts to get hurt so that he can give our hearts to someone completely different later.
Even if things don’t work out that way, we can still trust that God’s ways are better than ours.
He knows something we don’t know, and his ways are higher than ours.
As it says in the Bible, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).
So even though it might be tough to go through heartbreak, we can trust that God has a plan for us and that his ways are better than ours.
To reveal a relationship idol in your life
An idol is like having a favorite toy you love more than anything else. But when we love something more than God, it’s called an idol.
The problem with idols is that they can’t fulfill our deepest desires and hopes as God can.
Have you ever tried to put a square block into a round hole? It just doesn’t fit.
The same happens when we try to fill the space in our hearts with something other than God. Our hearts have a unique God-shaped hole that only God can fill perfectly.
It will always fall through when we try to fill it with an idol because there are better fits.
Sometimes, God allows us to experience heartbreak or disappointment with our idols to show that they can’t satisfy us as He can.
For example, if we make a relationship our idol and put all our hopes and dreams into it, God may allow that relationship to fail so we can learn that no person can fill the God-shaped hole in our hearts.
The Bible verse 1 John 5:20-21 teaches us that Jesus is the true God who can fill our hearts and give us eternal life. It reminds us to keep ourselves from idols, so we don’t miss out on God’s perfect love and plan for our lives.
