“You Are the Light of the World” — Amidst all the Darkness
This world is filled with darkness. There is so much loneliness, despair, and emptiness. Even as Christians and believers in Jesus Christ, there are clear moments when we have no strength to shine our light on those around us.
However, what is one thing Christ asked of us believers? "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
The last thing Christ told his disciples before leaving this earth was to “go and make disciples of all nations.”
Therefore, as believers in Christ, we have the responsibility to spread His Truth, love, and light to this fallen world! There are countless people of all ages and races seeking Christ.
As the Bible states in Romans 10:14-15, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'"
So as we live about our daily lives, let’s try a little harder to remember what Christ has done for us and shine the light of Christ to more people, even when it’s hard.
God works in mysterious ways and who knows? That one post on Instagram or that one person you stop on the street might be changed forever because of the Light you’ve given them.
