God Will Complete His Eternal Purpose

New JerusalemGod’s eternal purpose is to have a corporate expression of Himself in the man He created. He will bring forth this expression now and enlarge it unto New Jerusalem. This is declared in Ephesians 3:9-11:

God “created all things, in order that now to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenlies the multifarious wisdom of God might be made known through the church, according to the eternal purpose which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

God is the One who had a purpose and who made a plan in eternity past and who created all things for the fulfillment of His plan. The Lamb is the One who redeemed us….Both God’s plan and Christ’s redemption are being carried out through this throne. The throne is the source from which the river of water of life flows, and the river flows with the tree of life growing in it (22:2). The throne for the accomplishment of God’s eternal purpose is to flow out God Himself that by this flow of life His purpose may be accomplished.*

God is on the throne to exercise His authority over His enemy but He is also the source of life to supply and encourage us in our participation in the accomplishment of His purpose. No one can stop Him. The outcome of His authority and life flow will be Satan in the lake of fire and all God’s people enjoying the tree of life in New Jerusalem.

        The Gift of... Accounting?

While studying the topic of spiritual gifts this week, I stumbled upon a curious path and thought I would share my findings.Probably, when you think of spiritual gifts, accounting is not the first one that jumps to mind. I promise you that no one gets into ministry because they have a burning passion for budgets and spreadsheets. Still, as I said in a lecture to some college ministry students a few years ago at Oklahoma Christian University, "You can’t do any more ministry than you can afford, s
