God’s Commandment in the Bible

God’s Commandment in the Bible

Mathew 22Vs.35-38

“Then one of them which was a lawyer asked him a question-, tempting him and saying, Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment”

How much do you love God? Jesus in a response to a question from a Pharisee said the greatest commandment of all mankind is to love the Lord, our God and Creator with all our soul, heart and mind. To what extend are we keeping and obeying this simple commandment?

As stated in the passage, the love for God must come from the heart- inward affections and feelings, the soul- full consciousness, and the mind in thoughts. How much of our daily meditations and thoughts is focused n God our creator? Do we even acknowledge Him as God?

The Bible clearly says that God is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, and its fullness. If we take this to be true, then we should not have any difficulty in loving Him.

God is first and foremost our father, and wants to relate with us not only as His children but also as friends. He delights to be involved in communication with us through Prayers, Hymns, Songs and Reading the Holy Bible, which is His written one.

God loves us, and He wants us to love him in return. Are we in love with God?

If no, are you ready to fall in love with Him? Are you ready to put Him first in your ways, heart, dos and deeds? What are things that are taking away the love of God from your heart? Jesus commanded us to love God with all our soul, mind and heart.

It will be in our interest to obey this simple commandment, because each individual has more to gain than lose from obedience to this commandment than otherwise.

The Bible preaches Obedience is more than sacrifice. On earth, God gives his lovers abundant life, and after this life, he has prepared a place for them in heaven.

If you have not yet fallen in love with God, you can start a relationship with Him today.

If you have been in love with Him before and had jilted Him, do not worry he is always willing to forgive and receive back His former lovers with a warm embrace and sincere affection.

The only way to God’s heart is accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16.

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

Do you want to be reconciled with God, through Jesus the Lord and Saviour? Then say this simple prayer:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that am a sinner and have fallen short of your glory. I genuinely repent from all my sins and pledge to go and sin no more. I accept your plan to reconcile mankind to you through Jesus Christ, who you sent in your name.

I believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and died on the Cross to pay the penalty for my sins and redeem me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I pray that His blood washes my sins away. I invite the Holy Spirit to rule my Life. I am born again in Jesus name.
